Excellent Snorkelling Trip
Our ocean adventure tour with Oceanico Huatulco was excellent! We would definitely recommend booking a snorkelling tour and bay tour with this company. Meeting at the marina was straightforward. We started by heading out in to open ocean for about 45 minutes where we saw dozens of mating sea turtles and several just sunning themselves on the water's surface. We also saw a group of about 20 dolphins of varying kinds which was a total joy! Then we headed to a lovely healthy coral reef where we spent about an hour snorkelling. The guide gave us great information and was knowledgeable while not overwhelming us. He was there to support us but also gave us space to just explore. Saw tons of cool fish including an amazing sea turtle just doing his thing. It turned out my family of 3 were the only ones on the tour this day so the guide was happy to cater things to us - which was great since unfortunately my son and I are both sensitive to being sea sick (nothing to do with the guide - it's all us - and of course ironic that we love snorkelling!). The boat was comfortable although if we'd had 8-10 people, it would have been a bit squishy. We were lucky to be able to stretch out to help combat our sea sickness. There also was not a ton of shade... they do have a small canopy but depending on where the sun was in the sky, it didn't provide a ton of shade. I would recommend that you wear a rash guard and/or sunscreen the whole time. It was clear this company was making sustainable choices (ie. water in reusable bottles - not disposable plastic bottles), and treated the reef and the animals with respect. I'd recommend this company for your bay tour/snorkel adventure!
Response from the operator: Thanks for choosing our little organization to explore the marine wonderland of Huatulco. It was a pleasure to share these moments with you, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with fellow travelers. Rash guard, hats and reef safe sunscreen are all very good ideas for guests as the sun can be very strong down here in the tropics. Hope to see you all again soon for more adventures!

6 Stars for this Eco Tour + Snorkle
If I could give this tour 6⭐️’s I would. Our guide Tito had incredible knowledge of the area and was a pleasure to speak with about the variety of Marine Life. His knowledge of Biology was spectacular (coming from someone with a degree in Biology!).
Response from the operator: Thanks for joining Tito to explore the marine wildlife of Huatulco, we really appreciate you sharing your experience with fellow travelers. We love observing and learning about the many ocean species, so it is a pleasure to share these moments with fellow natural world enthusiasts and Biologists! Hope to see you again on your next visit.

Our tour was super...
Our tour was super informative and intimate! The guides are bilingual which made communication really helpful. Might be helpful to go to the bathroom beforehand because the toilet is quite small.
Response from the operator: Thanks for choosing our little organization to encounter all the wonderful marine wildlife in Huatulco. We love sharing small group trips with guests for more of a personable experience and hope that you can join us again soon.

Second time and just as good as the first
As always an amazing experience. The crew is great. Every time we’ve been out they were able to take us to see some amazing wild life while at the same time being respectful of the environment and taking a scientific approach. Very considerate of our family as the seas were a bit rough that day so they asked us if we were okay going out or needed to be taken to different calmer snorkeling areas. Once again an amazing experience.
Response from the operator: Thanks, it was great to see you again, feels like a compliment just to have guests return for more trips with us. We appreciate the kind recommendation and hope it is not too long before we can take you all ocean adventuring again.

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Huatulco.
How much does Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures cost?
+
Prices start at $1000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Huatulco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Huatulco is not rushed.
Is Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 181 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Huatulco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures?
+
Around 63 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Huatulco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Huatulco and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Huatulco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Huatulco?
+
On Outty we rank every Huatulco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour to Copalitilla Magical Waterfalls from Huatulco with admission included, Huatulco: Waterfalls, Zipline & Oaxacan Food, Cascadas: Puente Colgante + Zona de Clavados. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Huatulco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Huatulco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
