About this experience

There are several options for Oxford Harry Potter tours- indeed, we created the original Hogwarts tours here which have since been much copied and we have led tens of thousands of Muggles of all ages. However, this experience includes entry to all three of the film sites on an extended tour which is aimed at the most fanatical of you Muggles who want to squeeze into one day to make the most of your day trip to Oxford! In the morning, we will visit inside New college and stop by the Turf Tavern which is said to have inspired the Three Broomsticks and is where the actors used to relax after filming. Then you have some limited free time to get a quick lunch stop. In the afternoon, you will see inside the Divinity school at the Bodleian library and then finish with self guided entry to Christ church. Note that entry to Duke Humfreys library at the Bodleian is not included and the only reason why is because its entry tickets usually sell out, 2 weeks ahead but we can advise you on it.

  2. New College

Entry is with the guide and the entry fee worth £12 per person is paid by the guide for you. See where they filmed scenes from the Goblet of fire such as Malfoy being transfigured into a ferret in the medieval quadrangle. New college is not in fact ''new''- it dates back to 1379 and it's said to be haunted too. As and when open, we see inside the medieval dining hall and the chapel. We see the gardens and main quadrangle and the medieval Oxford city walls- which actually appears as a backdrop photo morphed into an image in the films. We typically schedule to visit New college at 10.30am as the dining hall can close as early as 11.15 to 14.30, so if you specifically ask to book the tour at a different start time, please be aware you may miss seeing the Great Hall. Warner Bros asked to film the halls of New, Christ church and of Keble and all three colleges turned them down to film in their halls, so the Great Hall was built at Warner Bros studio but looks like an Oxford hall!

  3. Bodleian Library

NOTICE: Divinity school closes often, so see Exclusions for dates closed. As & when, the Divinity school at the Bodleian library is open, the tour includes £3 entry fee to see inside. Note that guiding is no longer permitted inside but we tell you all about the venue outside and can accompany you inside to help you take photos, wearing our dress up gowns, hats, wands etc. Divinity school is where they filmed dance scenes yule ball & infirmary scenes of Hogwarts. Divinity school is where the theology students did their oral exams in Latin, dating back to the 15th century. Note the above the Divinity school at the Bodleian is Duke Humfreys library, where they also filmed library scenes. However, Duke Humfreys is never open to children aged under 11, nor to private guides. If you also wish to visit Duke Humfreys library, make sure to go onto Bodleian library website and book a Bodleian library staff guided tour. Bodleian library tours start from £12 and sell out 2 weeks ahead too!

Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oxford.

How much does Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school cost?

+

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oxford usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oxford is not rushed.

Is Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oxford, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oxford can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oxford and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hogwarts Tour Includes New college+ Christchurch +Divinity school start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oxford within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oxford?

+

On Outty we rank every Oxford experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotswolds in a Day Tour from Moreton-in-Marsh / Stratford-on-Avon, Oxford University Walking Tour With University Alumni Guide, Oxford Official University & City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oxford?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oxford?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
