Wonderful wallking
This was a great trip - we highly recommend. We were looked after very well, the walking was great although a little slow at times. It was great to stay in the villages. The food was excellent - but I did eat a bit too much!

A Must-Do Experience in Fiji!
I absolutely loved my experience with Talanoa Treks in Fiji—it was truly one of the best experiences I've ever had! The hikes were incredible, with breathtaking views that made every step worthwhile. What made the trip even more special was visiting the villages and experiencing the local lifestyle. Everyone was so welcoming, and it was amazing to learn about their culture. I especially loved the food—it was delicious and such an important part of the experience. Everything about the trek exceeded my expectations, and I would absolutely love to do it again. I can't recommend Talanoa Treks enough!

An unbeatable way to experience Fijian culture and magical landscapes
Cannot recommend Talanoa Treks enough to any travellers looking to do some hiking while soaking up the culture of a beautiful country in some places that are not so easily accessed. The Fijian highlands were spectacular and we absolutely recommend adding hiking through the area with Talanoa to anyone’s bucket list. Jake was an incredible guide from the get-go with an abundance of knowledge and the best vibes out. Our biggest thanks as well to Manasa, Ruci, Orisi and Dilo for showing us around your beautiful backyards as our guides each day. As two young women travelling in an unfamiliar place, we always felt so well taken care of and safe while in the communities, on the hikes, and while in transit - even without reception or connection to the outside world. This should be attributed to the beautiful humans we encountered at every step along the way who always took great care to ensure we were having an amazing trip. I have coeliac disease and was provided with plentiful gluten free options for every meal, which were all delicious. Although I was encouraged to bring my own snacks, I was always provided plenty of gluten free options by our guides so my backup supply was not necessary. While we weren’t able to climb Mount Tomanivi due to safety concerns over poor conditions, we appreciated that Talanoa was able to arrange an alternative hike for us on that day, which led to a stunning walk through the Naqaranibuluti Nature Reserve. The day 2 hike between Naga and Nabutautau was a highlight for both of us, although was also the most challenging and would be suitable for those with prior hiking experience. Talanoa were always very responsive and a delight to deal with. Thank you again to the team at Talanoa Treks and the wonderful communities for giving us the trip of a lifetime! Georgia & Laney

Absolutely best experience for our honeymoon
Incredible experience, Ben was an amazing story teller. Although some of the hiking was challenging it was well worth it, the villages were very welcoming, allowing us to have a true taste and experience of the real Fiji, something you’ll never see at any of the coastal resorts. Highly recommend for any active adventurer who wants to see the heart of the Fijian traditional lifestyle and people.

An amazing hiking experience that immerses you in Fijian culture
I had a fantastic time with Jake and the team. The hiking was really great, with a variety of different terrain and scenery throughout to keep things interesting and challenging. All three hiking days are unique and fun and the highlight for me was hiking in the hilly grasslands then decending into the valley for a swim in the river on the third day. The hike up and down Mount Tomanivi (Fiji's highest point) shouldn't be missed either. Being able to stay in remote farming villages between hiking was an absolute privilege and the warm welcome, clean facilities and warm bedding was a welcome relief after a hard day's walk. The hospitality was great and the food was actually the best part of the whole trip. So many different dishes and a chance to try real Fijian meals, cooked fresh. The company partners with the local community and ensure that the community genuinely benefits from the tourism. What's also great is that on each day local guides would accompany us on the hike and share local stories and knowledge about the area. It was a great experience learning about Fiji's history and traditional culture. I would absolutely recommend this. A trip to remember. Thanks, Talanoa Treks!
