Off-Road Cave Safari
"Take the Road Less Travelled" when you venture into the beautiful Fijian interior and explore the region that plays such a significant part of Fijian history. Your guides will bring the tour to life as they share the incredible history of the last war of Fiji and the way in which the mighty Naihehe Cave system played such a significant role in protecting the people against attack. The Off Road Cave Safari experience includes a traditional kava ceremony seeking permission to enter the cave by the bete (priests) who are the traditional protectors of the cave. A guided experience in the cave system which features natural formations such as stalagmites & stalactites, plus a living history of the Nabuavaju clan. The cave is only illuminated by head lamps worn by the visitors into the cave and the incredible immersion into the cave system is brought to life by your guide and the spirit of the cave itself. Returning to our BBQ site overlooking the stream/swimming hole you will enjoy a wind down with a sumptuous Fijian lunch that will fill your stomach and allow time to get to know your hosts and make new friends. Heading back down to the departure point, passing through villages and hi-fiving the kids who wait to see you, you will be all smiles by the end of we are sure you will truly feel you have experienced a uniquely Fijian adventure.

Amazing day.. 100% do it!
We booked this trip whilst in Fiji staying on the Coral coast and loved it. It was a fabulous day with our wonderfully attentive and onteresting guides Tia Maria and Moses. We felt like Vips for the morning as me and my husband were the only people booked on to this session. The afternoon session was fully booked so we highly recommend going in the morning for a special experience. The transfers, pick ups and check ins all super smooth. Lovely people throughout. The off road transport anazjng and totally immersive in the stunning climb ip the valley through villages and locals all smiling bula! Great driving from Moses and interesting local commentary from Tia who was so interesting to chat with. We loved meeting the Priest... and offering Cava for our safe passage and return to the wonderful caves. The cave system is amazing. So atmospheric and unspoilt. A very special place filled with legends and history. Be carefull with your phone through the prenancy gap... follow Tia Marias clear instructions and be prepared to get a wet bum! Such a great trip... the beautiful interior of vitu levu, stunning views, wonderful people , great Cava and the best BBQ cooked and presented beautifully by Moses. The kind of day that makes you fall in love with Fiji
Some tours show you the sights. This one made us feel like we’d been welcomed into Fiji. From the moment we set off, Saddam and Moses made the day feel special. Saddam was a brilliant guide: warm, funny and full of stories that brought the villages and the Sigatoka River to life. He didn’t just point things out as we passed; he helped us understand the people, the place and the everyday life behind the scenery. Moses was a fantastic driver, and together they made the whole trip feel relaxed, fun and genuinely personal. And then came the caves. The journey there was an adventure in itself, and entering the cave after asking the priests permission made the experience feel meaningful and respectful. Inside, the scale and beauty of the cave system were incredible. It’s the sort of place that stays with you long after you’ve left. Lunch was delicious, but one of our favourite memories was sharing it with Simeli, Saddam’s cousin. That wasn’t a staged “cultural experience”, it was a lovely, spontaneous moment that made us feel included and gave us a glimpse of real Fijian hospitality. The atmosphere these guys bring is so much fun!!! We booked a cave safari and got so much more: an adventure, a fascinating look at village life, wonderful food, plenty of laughs and time with people we won’t forget. Saddam, Moses and Simeli made us feel like guests, not just tourists. If you’re coming to Fiji, make room in your plans for this. One of the BEST tours we’ve ever done – Saddam and Moses are absolute legends! We’ve been fortunate enough to experience some incredible tours around the world, but this cave tour in Fiji was genuinely one of the BEST experiences we’ve ever had! And the biggest reason for that? Saddam and Moses! Saddam was an absolutely outstanding guide. His knowledge, personality, humour and genuine passion for sharing his culture made this experience so much more than just a tour. We got a wonderful insight into authentic Fijian culture, traditions and everyday village life, and it felt like we were experiencing the real Fiji rather than just the tourist version. He was engaging, welcoming, hilarious and fantastic with our whole family. Then there was Moses, our brilliant driver! Between his expert driving, fantastic sense of humour and endless dad jokes, he kept us entertained the entire way. The journey itself was half the fun! We were also lucky enough to have a guest appearance from Saddam’s cousin, Simi, who was equally fantastic and brought some seriously good banter to the experience. Clearly, being entertaining runs in the family! Our daughter Chloe has also discovered a new love for Fijian bananas, so that’s another lasting memory we’ll be taking home! What really stood out to us was how genuine the whole experience felt. The warmth, laughter, cultural insights and personal touches made it something truly special. These aren’t just people doing a job – they are incredible ambassadors for Fiji and its beautiful people. Naihehe Cave Safari
My husband and i had an amazing experience with Moses our driver and Tia Maria. Both beautiful people and very informative and helpful. It was an exciting drive out to the cave and crossing the river. We arrived at the cave after meeting the mother and son who gave us permission to enter the cave. We also wore our sarong for this and enjoyed meeting the others on the tour. Next Tia Maria took us down to the cave a short walk away. We descended into the cave and waded through water which was sometimes knee deep. Tia Maria is extremely knowledgeable about Fijian history and told us all about life in the villages. We spent about 30 minutes in the cave. After the cave we had a wonderful bbq lunch and experienced cava. An amazing day and I would like to sincerely thank Tia Maria for helping me get up twice after having problems

Getting lost in Naihehe Cave (not literally - look up its name)
Went on the cave tour today with Tia (guide), Moses (4WD driver) and Zac (transfer driver) and it was awesome! The lunch was delish and it was great to get our kids to try kava for the first time. It was only a bit long to get back (maybe we were waiting for others which is def not the fault of the company) but hey, it’s island time! The guides were fab and we had a great time doing something out of the ordinary. Highly recommend. Would try the river safari next time as they all got off the boats looking like they had a ball.
