Amazing experiences!

Great experience - a really brilliant day out. Started around 8:30am with hotel pickup and took around 30 minutes to get to Tulum. Very very hot and not much opportunity to stand in shade so bring plenty of water and be careful. Lots of interesting and some funny facts from our amazing tourguide. Think we spent around an hour in total at the site. We then headed to cenote swimming which was in a big beautiful cave. 3 chambers, the last one being almost pitch black - not for the faint hearted but its optional to go in that last one. You have to push against the roof of the cave to prevent you from hitting it with your head. The gap between the cave and the water is around 30cm. I had a great time but my partner is quite claustrophobic so this was tricky for him! We spent around 45 minutes in the cenote before heading off for lunch in a nice little restaurant - very good tacos! Got a good bit time to relax before going to snorkel with turtles - so many turtles were seen, think around 15+. Amazing experience that we’ll never forget. We returned to our hotel at around 4pm so it is an almost full day trip. But we had a fantastic time, highly recommend this tour!

Feel bad for only giving a 3* rating. Nothing to do with the staff and our transfer guide was brilliant an funny. Sadly purely just due to the season the water was full of seaweed. We really couldn't see anything at all whilst snorkeling and then had to swim and walk through it all at the end. I would do this again in a better season.

Response from the operator: Good afternoon Corky Sadly is not the best season for the activity, Nature is against some days to enjoy as we would like to do it, but we try to do our best as you could saw with the service provided you Not always is like, some days there are few seaseed, other days there are a lot Thanks for trusting in us for the activity Best regards

Wonderful experience to experience the turtles so close!!!

The snorkeling trip to Akumal turtle bay was a great experience! The transfer was well organized and went smoothly. Our guide accompanied us excellently during snorkeling and guided us through the bay with a lot of knowledge. We were able to observe several turtles up close – a real highlight! Afterwards we enjoyed about 1.5 hours on the beautiful beach. An all-round successful tour that we can absolutely recommend!

Response from the operator: Hi Kiki We're absolutely thrilled to hear you loved this trip! We're so glad everything happened on schedule and that you all had an amazing day, creating memorable experiences thanks to Ezekiel and Luis! Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon! Kind regards

Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.

How much does Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay cost?

+

Prices start at $1500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.

Is Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half-day Tour Sea Turtles Encounter in Akumal Bay start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?

+

On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
