Amazing time in Tulum!
We had a wonderful time on this trip, both JC and Alex were super friendly and made sure we had an excellent time all day. We booked this at the last minute and Victor was super helpful in setting up everything for us quickly. Alex was very entertaining and shared a lot of interesting facts about Mayan culture, it is clear he is passionate about this and enjoys sharing his knowledge, which made us want to learn even more. He's a really fun guy to be around and an excellent guide. The cenote swim is simply beautiful and breathtaking. JC helped us navigate through the dark cavern and always made sure we felt safe and knew where we were going. We had the chance to be all alone with our guides with no other groups around us during our swim in the cavern, which made it so peaceful and mesmerizing. The whole visit was incredible, I can't recommend this tour enough, especially the private experience which is 100% worth the upgrade. Thank you very much for an awesome day! We will definitely book with this company again when we come back to Mexico.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review! We’re truly happy to hear that you had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. It’s great to know Victor was able to assist you quickly with your last-minute booking, and we’re especially glad that JC and Alex made your day so memorable. Alex will love hearing that you enjoyed his passion for Mayan culture — he really enjoys sharing his knowledge and creating a fun atmosphere. The cenote experience you described is exactly what we aim for — peaceful, safe, and unforgettable. Having that quiet moment in the cavern is something truly special, and we’re so glad you got to enjoy it. JC will also appreciate your kind words about making you feel safe and well guided throughout. Thank you again for your recommendation and trust in us. We’ll be more than happy to welcome you back for another amazing day when you return to Mexico!

Find a better way to view the Tulum ruins
This was not a quality trip and if, like me, your main interest is the ruins at Tulum then I suggest you find a better way to go and avoid this trip. The pick up was 25 minutes late in a full minivan that took us to Tulum and back but had no working seat belts despite the hour long journey each way. At the entrance to the ruins we were met by a local guide who informed us that no plastic or food and drink was allowed in the archaeological site yet I had been told to bring water and snacks. We couldn’t leave our bags in the van as we were being picked up by a different vehicle. The guide was knowledgeable but too focused on stories about himself and in the end I went my own way because we were running out of time to look around because he was so long winded. We then went to the cenote in another van which smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The driver tailgated vehicles at over 60mph - dangerously stupid. The cenote was a good experience and enjoyed by all. Finally we drove to a site nearby where we were served a plastic plate of beans, rice and burritos. They tried to upsell drinks. The drive back was uneventful but we had a variety of drivers and guides during the experience which was disappointing.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that parts of your experience did not meet expectations. Punctuality, vehicle quality, and safety are extremely important to us, so your comments regarding the transportation, seat belts, and driving behavior are taken very seriously. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we will be addressing this directly with our transportation partners. We also apologize for the confusion regarding what is allowed inside the Tulum archaeological site. Regulations there can be strict, but we understand how mixed information can be frustrating, and we will work on making our pre-tour communication clearer. Regarding the guide at Tulum, we appreciate your feedback. While we value knowledgeable guides, the experience should always feel engaging and well-paced, allowing enough time to explore comfortably. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the cenote experience, though we regret that other aspects — including the lunch and multiple vehicle changes — affected your overall impression. Your feedback is very valuable to us and helps us improve both our organization and consistency. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Awesome Tulum trip with Adventours Alondra and JC
Group of 8 had an amazing half day adventure on short notice. Adventours answered my questions the day before the trip and then J.C. and Alondra took us from our hotel to Tulum ruins and a cenote. She knew so much historical information! We learned a lot and had fun. They are on tine, professional, easy going and funny. We would book with them again.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re happy to hear your group had such a great time exploring the Tulum ruins and cenote with JC and Alondra. It’s wonderful that you enjoyed their knowledge, professionalism, and fun spirit. We truly appreciate your kind words and would love to welcome you all back for another adventure soon!

A magical day in Tulum and a Cenote
This experience far exceeded our expectations. Miguel and JC were knowledgeable, accommodating, and made sure we had a wonderful time. The ruins were both beautiful and interesting, with new discoveries about the area being made all the time. Miguel’s expertise in the area and history was very robust. The swim in the Cenote was magical, such a unique experience. And finally, lunch was simple, tasty, and much appreciated. One of our friends left some clothes in the van and JC reached out to return them the next day, which was so thoughtful. He also took lots of great photos and videos in the Cenote, helping us to capture an unforgettable day with friends. Being picked up and dropped off at the hotel made the whole process so simple, and this excursion was the perfect length of time.
Response from the operator: Hello! :), Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re beyond happy to hear the experience exceeded your expectations. Miguel and JC will be thrilled to know their knowledge, care, and attention helped make your day so memorable. We’re glad you enjoyed every part—from the fascinating ruins and magical cenote swim to the smooth hotel pick-up and drop-off. It’s the little things, like returning forgotten items and capturing memories with photos, that we believe make all the difference. Thank you for letting us be part of such a special day with friends—we’d love to welcome you again anytime! Best regards, Paradise Adventours Team 🌴

8 hours, not half day as listed
Booked as a 4.5 hours trip but pick up started at 7.30 and drop off was at 3.30 so 8 hours long. Guides kind
Response from the operator: Hello! :), Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're happy to hear you found the guides kind and helpful throughout your experience! We truly appreciate your comment about the tour duration. While the core experience is designed to be half-day, factors like pick-up logistics and travel time can sometimes extend the total time. We understand how that might feel different from what was expected, and we’ll be reviewing how we present this information to make it clearer for future guests. Thank you again for your helpful insight—we’re always working to improve! Best regards, Paradise Adventours Team 🌴

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half day Tulum Archeological site & Underground river with Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
