Do not book this tour!!!!

I am writing this to warn future travelers to please invest their money into something better. This tour is advertised as a party boat but a better depiction of what it is would be a fishing boat. On the description it says there’s a maximum of 40 people. This is not the truth! You will be packed like sardines in the boat. My friends and I were sharing a table and were broken up so other people could sit there. They informed us they were combining another group even though we had paid a hefty amount to be on that boat. After informing customer care about the issue they dismissed me with a "sorry you didn't like it" even though i explained everything that had gone wrong. I can assure you there was no “party” atmosphere when you had to share tables or get your traveling group broken up. The “open bar” was also a nightmare. The crew served us the first round and that’s it. Since the boat was over crowded people were rushing to the bar to ask for more drinks since the staff stopped serving. It was total chaos trying to get a single margarita. As I explained in my initial report, I understand that the snorkeling aspect had to be canceled due to strong winds. However considering this was one of the more expensive trips to isla mujeres we imagined they would have a back up activity prepared. This was not the case, they stopped serving drinks and stopped the music so they could sell us a different activity for about 20-30 minutes. One that most of the packed boat had no interest in doing. Especially not when it was an EXTRA FEE. Would you find yourself in the party mode after that ? … I will go ahead and assume the answer is no. That’s because that was what everyone was talking about. The disappointment of this expensive trip.

Response from the operator: The boat provided was the same as advertised, a double decker catamaran or a sailing catamaran Calling it a fishing boat is stretch, the number of persons being part of the tour is as advertised The staff asked politely to add persons to the table since there was more space, there was a party, everyone else was dancing, drinking or meeting new people that were stitting with them The party can only happen if you are willing to be part of it. Sitting with your own group avoiding any chat with everyone else is not the way to enjoy a party The staff invited everyone to step to the bar, the first drinks served were a courtesy as a welcome. The staff are not waiters, they are sailors with other responsabilities, if they have the chance, they'll try to keep every single drink full Everyone was invited to do snorkel, but the guides adviced that only people with basic swimming skills participate The back up is the visit at Playa Norte where the water is more calm

Definitely the boat trip to be on

So much fun! The staff was friendly and they made sure everyone had a great time. Got to visit two beautiful areas of the island and swim off the north coast. Amazing day!

Response from the operator: Isla Mujeres has only beautiful areas! From top to bottom, filled with nature and beauty The party in the Catamaran is always the best part of the adventure, meeting new people while traveling will make great memories to bring back home We hope to see you again soon!

A must!

The only reason this does not get a 5 star rating is because the transportation was almost an hour late. We were told pick up would be at 7:15 and to be there 10 minutes before. So we get there at 7 and transportation doesn’t show up until 8. Rocky start. Once we were there everything changed. The staff was great and did an amazing job at making it a party. Food was good. No other complaints. Definitely recommend!

Response from the operator: We are happy to know that you liked the tour that much, we are sorry but the delays in pick ups are something out of everyone's hand Our staff will always be ready for party! The'll take care of the mood so everyone can have fun

Awful buffet. Friendly people and beautiful Island.

The experience was nice. It was beautiful and friendly staff but the "buffet" lunch the provide is awful. Not one item was good at the restaurant they need to improve the quality of their food my 13 year old can make better food than what they had.

Response from the operator: We appreciate your comment and we are glad that you enjoyed our tour, we work to improve our buffet and thus be able to welcome you back

Horrible food. The island was beautiful.

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is the food. It was terrible. It's a buffet style but the food was so so bad. They could do much better on the quality of the food. Other than that it was a fun experience.

Response from the operator: We really appreciate your comment and advice, we work to improve our food service and we hope to see you back soon

That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
