⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing family safari experience – highly recommended!
We booked the half-day Nairobi National Park safari with Nairobi City Safari Tours, and it was honestly one of the best experiences our family of five has ever had. Our driver and guide, Charles, was absolutely brilliant. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the wildlife and Kenya. Throughout the tour, he took the time to explain so much to us, sharing fascinating facts about the animals, the park and the local area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We were lucky enough to see three of the Big Five – lions, rhinos and buffalo – as well as zebras, giraffes, impalas, hippos, crocodiles, ostriches, baboons, monkeys, warthogs (“Pumba”) and many other animals. Charles always positioned the vehicle perfectly for great views and photos and never made us feel rushed. The safari vehicle was clean, comfortable and well maintained. One of the unexpected highlights was stopping to meet some Maasai warriors, who took us on a short walking trail and taught us about their culture and way of life. We also met Maasai women selling handmade crafts and bought some personalised bracelets as a lovely souvenir. As a family travelling with young children, the half-day safari was the perfect length. It gave us plenty of time to enjoy the wildlife without the children becoming tired or restless. A huge thank you to Charles and everyone at Nairobi City Safari Tours for making this such a memorable experience. If you’re visiting Nairobi and looking for a safari, we couldn’t recommend this company highly enough. We would happily book with them again! ⭐🦁🦏🦒

Disappointed Mad Rush looking for Big Game
I was on a morning trip to Nairobi National Park. The trip felt like a mad rush just to see big game animals! I am interested in birds and we didn’t stop for them apart from Ostrich, Marabou Stork or a large Eagle. I caught glimpses of so many colourful birds but we did not stop! Instead it was a hunt to see a Lion! This included aggressive driving, overtaking other vehicles and not making it a pleasant experience. This was mainly due to the fact that for some of the people this was their last day in Kenya and they had to see a Lion. This is a wilderness experience not a given that you will encounter every animal!! There was also a time when the driver drove in front of other tour vehicles obstructing their view to get a better view and thereby scaring the Rhinos they were watching!

Nairobi national park half day tour
Good communication and quick contact for making and arranging the trip, both from the office (Robert) and driver (Owen). We were picked up at 6am and dropped back around midday. The tour was a half day Nairobi national park safari. Saw loads of great wildlife in the park so the timing was perfect. The vehicle was comfortable and great for viewing.

Why this scores 46
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 15. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Nairobi National Park Safari Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
