Five Incredible Days and a Guide Who Made the Trip
We spent five days exploring Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru with Axis Africa, and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our trip to Kenya. The safari was very well organized, communication was easy, and everything went smoothly throughout the five days. Each destination had something different to offer, but Masai Mara was definitely unforgettable. A huge part of why we enjoyed the trip so much was our guide(kelvin). He was exceptional from the first day until the last. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and, most importantly, genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great experience. He put a lot of effort into every game drive, constantly looking for wildlife and taking us to the best possible spots. His knowledge of the animals and the parks was impressive, and he was always happy to answer our questions. You could tell that he wasn’t simply doing his job — he actually wanted us to experience the best of Kenya. We also spent many hours driving together over the five days, and his personality made a huge difference. He was easygoing, funny and patient, and by the end of the safari it felt more like we had been traveling with a friend than just a tour guide. The whole experience was worth it, but our guide is what turned a very good safari into an unforgettable one. I would happily book with Axis Africa again, and if I had the choice, I would specifically ask for the same guide. Highly recommended!

An Unforgettable Safari With an Exceptional Guide
We had an amazing 5-day safari through Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Everything was well organized from start to finish, but what really made the trip special was our guide. He was absolutely outstanding — professional, friendly, patient and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and the areas we visited. He genuinely cared about giving us the best possible experience rather than simply following an itinerary. During the game drives, he always seemed to know where to go and made a real effort to help us see as much wildlife as possible. He explained the animals, their behavior and the surroundings in a way that made the safari much more interesting. He was also a very good driver, which matters a lot when you’re spending several days and many hours on the road. What impressed me most was his attitude throughout the entire trip. He was always positive, accommodating and willing to go the extra mile for us. We never felt rushed, and he made the five days feel like an adventure with a friend rather than just a guided tour. Masai Mara was incredible, and Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru each brought something different to the experience. Overall, the trip was excellent value and created memories I will keep for a long time. I would absolutely recommend Axis Africa Expedition & Safaris, and especially our guide, Kelvin. If I return to Kenya for another safari, I would genuinely want to travel with him again. 10/10 experience

Saw the Great Migration, thanks to a lovely and dedicated guide
Our tour with Khalifa was amazing! He was extremely dedicated, and did absolutely everything in his power to make sure we could see everything on our list. Lions interacting with each other, a leopard up in a tree, lots of rhinos, hippos fighting, and too many elephants to count! The other groups failed to see the great migration so late in the season, but Khalifa was meticulous in finding the right place at the right time - and we witnessed it!

Trip of a lifetime!! We highly recommend!
We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Axis Africa Safaris. From beginning to end they went above and beyond to give us the trip of a lifetime! Our guide, Mohammad, was absolutely exceptional. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he does, but he is also one of the kindest, most genuine people we have met. By the end of our safari, he felt less like our tour guide and more like a friend—one we feel incredibly lucky to have made in Kenya. Mohammad’s dedication to making sure we experienced as much as possible was unparalleled. He somehow helped us see the Big Five within our first two days in the Maasai Mara, and the incredible wildlife encounters just kept coming. We watched a cheetah hunt a gazelle in Amboseli, saw families of more than 20 elephants at a time crossing together with their babies, spotted rare black rhinos in the Maasai Mara on our first afternoon game drive, saw hyenas eat a baby giraffe feet away from us, and had unbelievably close encounters with white rhinos in Lake Nakuru. And those are just a few of the moments we’ll be talking about for years to come. Mohammad seemed to know exactly where to be and when to be there, and his excitement for every sighting made the experience even more special. We also owe a huge thank you to Tabitha at Axis. We had unexpected issues with our flights into Kenya that significantly shortened our trip and could have completely derailed our plans. Instead, Tabitha immediately jumped into action, rearranging reservations and making last-minute changes so that we could still experience everything that mattered most to us. Her flexibility, responsiveness, and willingness to make it all work took so much stress out of an already stressful situation. What could have easily turned into a disappointing trip because of circumstances completely outside of anyone’s control instead became one of the most incredible experiences of our lives—and that is entirely thanks to the care, effort, and dedication of Mohammad, Tabitha, and the Axis team. If you are considering a safari in Kenya, book with Axis—and if you have the opportunity we could not recommend Mohammad more!! We cannot thank Mohammad and Tabitha enough for giving us memories we will cherish forever. Truly the trip of a lifetime!

Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate cost?
+
Prices start at $922 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 97 out of 100, which we label "Peak Performance". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 281 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate?
+
Around 98 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2 Days Amboseli Safari using a 4x4 Landcruiser jeep(with options), 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, Private Tour in Kibera the Largest Slum. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
