Other animals likely to be spotted include leopards, elands, impala, Masai giraffes, gazelles, zebras, Tanzanian cheetahs, Cape buffaloes, baboons, eastern black rhinos, Coke's hartebeest, hippopotami, ostriches, vultures and water-bucks. Unlike many other national parks, the setting here features many walking trails from which to choose. 2. Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

The SWT Nursery, located inside Nairobi National Park is where a baby elephant orphan's journey begins — a journey that will culminate, many years down the line, in their reintegration back into the wild. The public visit takes place every day, except 25th December, from 11am to 12 noon. During this time, the team there will be delighted to join you for an unforgettable hour with the Nursery herd. Funds from your visit help support the rescue and rehabilitation of the orphaned elephants in their care.

Best Safari Ever

We booked this tour the night before, extremely last minute. The owner, Dennis was extremely communicative, upfront and accommodating to us throughout the entire booking process. We cannot thank him enough for scoring us next day tickets to Sheldrick which we would have otherwise had to miss out on due to our poor planning! Our guide Paul picked us up promptly in the morning and we headed out for one of my favorite days ever, that I'll never forget. Paul had a great personality and was super knowledgeable about the animals. My favorite thing about him was that he made sure we got to see the animals -- he was in constant contact on the radio for the most up to date info for animal sightings, and then quickly and safely got to the next area for animal sightings. We saw soooo many incredible things thanks to Paul. It remains my first ever (and BEST!) safari after spending a week through out Kenya. Would 100000% re-book and recommend them!

Bushtop Kenya Safaris are top notch!

We initially booked this tour with Viator the day before and was surprised to see that we could get into the elephant orphanage (it normally takes two days notice). About an hour after booking, Denis from the tour provider, Bushtop Kenya Safaris, contacted me. He said that due to the lateness of our booking (our fault), he could not get us into the orphanage and suggested we cancel with viator and book just the national park with his company. The main reason we booked the tour was to visit the orphanage. When we canceled with viator, they canceled our tour but Viator refused to give us our money back because we canceled. Denis had contacted viator and explained all of this to them on our behalf with no resolution. Denis somehow managed to arrange three tickets for us to the orphanage. He did not need to do this nor did we expect such effort, and it was amazing that he went above and beyond. The next morning, Henry, our driver, picked us up and we had a personal driver for the entire morning through the national park and then onto the orphanage. Needless to say, Denis came through for us and Henry was a great driver and guide. I can highly recommend Bushtop Kenya Safaris.

Great tour provider - definitely recommend

It was a great experience dealing with Bushtop Kenya Safaris. From the booking stage when tour manager Denis came up with a well-planned programme meeting all my requests and facilitated at each stage; to the game rides themselves where James (the driver) managed to get me into the elephant orphanage and to find all the animals I wanted to see: I saw 5 lions on 1 day, which is very rare. James was also helpful at all stages and it was pleasure talking with him as he told many interesting facts about the animals and Kenya. Definitely recommend this tour provider!

Lovely Holidays

My safari experience in Kenya was beyond my imagination! It was home in the wild and worth the money and time I spent on it. I requested a quote from Bushtop Safaris and from my very first contact, Denis was extremely helpful and communicated professionally. He shared with us all the information and proposals necessary to propose our trip to our preference and budget via email with an unmatched treatment. They conformed to all our requests and requirements and proposed a dream trip, which we would also carry out on private tours throughout the trip. We had both great tent and lodge as accommodations well equipped and the meals were delicious. Definitely, one of our highlights of our trip was our guide Tony, who made our whole trip more than memorable. He has amazing experience, knows so much not only about the animals but also about the country & culture. He also seems to know everyone everywhere and everyone knows him. Easy going, extremely professional, always in a good mood and very punctual. Not only does he have great personality, but also knows every single path in the parks by soul and can easily spot animals from a distance. I almost thought he had a super power when he noticed a leopard hiding on a tree from 1 mile away. Thank you sooo much, Tony! Look no further- Bushtop Kenya Safaris and their team tops it all!

Half-Day tour to the Nairobi National Park with Bushtop Safaris

Spotting the BIG TWO during our game drive and also the giraffes, zebras, antelope, etc . We saw lions and buffalos! We were unlucky since we didn't see leopard, rhino and elephants. We booked with Bushtop Safaris who sent us the itinerary immediately after payment. Our tour guide, Joseph picked us at the agreed time. He engaged us throughout the whole trip, educating us on the history of the park. During the game drive, he educated us about all the animals he spotted. From the giraffes, zebras, impalas, gazelles, different bird species, etc. For anyone visiting Nairobi National Park, try to be there early in the morning to get a chance to see as many animals as possible and book with a credible tour company to get value for your money!

Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.

How much does Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery cost?

+

Prices start at $207 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.

Is Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half day Nairobi National Park Tour & Sheldrick Elephant Nursery start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi?

+

On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nairobi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nairobi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
