What you get
About this experience
Begin your morning with a chef-prepared buffet breakfast as we cruise to Molokini Crater, a world-renowned marine preserve home to over 400 species of tropical fish and coral reefs. Your adventure continues with a second snorkel stop, chosen daily for the best conditions and marine life. In summer, that often means exploring Turtle Town, where Hawaiian green sea turtles rest and swim. In winter, we may shift course for whale watching, tracking Maui’s migrating humpback whales. This is our Deluxe tour for a reason—we go where the magic is. Sip on Hawaiian mimosas, Aperol Spritz, and Maui Brewing Co. craft beers as you enjoy the ocean breeze and panoramic views. After a refreshing swim, indulge in a generous island-style buffet lunch served onboard. To close the day, we raise the sails and catch the trade winds for an authentic open-ocean sailing experience before returning to the harbor.

An Unforgettable Maui Experience!
Our day aboard the Alii Nui was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Maui. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience was first-class. We were warmly welcomed, the check-in process was seamless, and the crew made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. A special thank you to Captain Tim, who did an outstanding job explaining the day’s itinerary, safety procedures, and the activities ahead. His professionalism, knowledge, and friendly personality set the tone for an incredible day on the water. The crew truly made this experience exceptional. Cat, Pedro, Trent, Timmons, Dustin, Alfie, and photographer Chloe were attentive, engaging, and always one step ahead of every guest’s needs. Whether it was helping with snorkeling gear, serving drinks, answering questions, or simply making everyone feel comfortable, their hospitality was second to none. The food exceeded all expectations. The freshly prepared breakfast and delicious lunch were outstanding, and the selection of drinks throughout the trip was excellent. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Maui. Even cleaned our glasses 🙂. The views from the yacht were spectacular, with crystal-clear water, stunning mountain backdrops, and an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. Every moment felt special, and Chloe captured beautiful memories that we’ll cherish for years to come. If you’re looking for a luxury sailing and snorkeling experience in Maui, Alii Nui is absolutely worth it. The exceptional crew, outstanding service, delicious food, beautiful yacht, and unforgettable scenery made this one of the best excursions we’ve ever taken. Mahalo to the entire Alii Nui team for creating memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to sail with you again! 🌺⛵️🐢

Exceptional experience on the Ali’i Nui
We toured on funday Sunday with Captain Luke and his fabulous crew including Justin, David, Kat, Anika and Nick. The breakfast was of excellent quality and plentiful. Our reef snorkel at Molokini crater was beautiful and Captain Luke gave us plenty of time to explore the reef. We picked up anchor and headed to turtle point. I had the greatest nose to nose encounter with a magnificent sea turtle - the turtle and I were just floating with the current staring each other - one of the nightlights of my entire Hawaii experience. Lunch was even better than breakfast. The catamaran was clean and had plenty of room for all in attendance. There was reef safe sunscreen to protect us and the water. The crew was so attentive, welcoming and helpful. The entire experience far exceeded any expectations we had. I have to really give shout outs to Nick and Kat in particular for their Aloha spirit (as we were heading to port, Kat ran the entire boat cleaning everyone’s sunglasses). Cynthia the photographer did a great job as well capturing the day. If you’re contemplating a Molokini reef excursion, the Ali’i Nui should be your choice.
Response from the operator: WOW! Mahalo for the stellar review and recommendation, Steve! We truly appreciate the crew shout out and could not ask for a better guest to have onboard. We can't wait for your next trip with Ali'i Nui! Mahalo nui loa & a hui hou kakou! (Thank you very much & until we meet again!)

Best thing we did on our trip!
We took a 5 hour private charter with Alex and Travis. This was by far the family favorite activity on our 10 day vacation... Both Alex and Travis were top notch captains/crew. I cannot express how magical this 5 hours was! From our snorkel time, to all the extra special wildlife we saw (Hawaiian monk seal, spinner dolphins, turtles and reef life) it was amazing. The boat was super clean and had plenty of room for our family. We will 100% book this again!
Response from the operator: Mahalo for sharing such an amazing experience, Erin! It truly sounds like the perfect day out on the water made all the better with our local marine friends stopping by. We cannot wait for your next trip to Maui for another amazing day onboard! Mahalo nui loa & a hui hou kakou! (Thank you very much & until we meet again!)

Why this scores 80
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Maui.
How much does Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui cost?
+
Prices start at $199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Maui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Maui is not rushed.
Is Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 130 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Maui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui?
+
Around 46 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Maui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Maui and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half-Day Deluxe Molokini Snorkel Excursion in Maui start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Maui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Maui?
+
Maui's three signature days are the Hana road, the Haleakala summit sunrise and the Molokini snorkel sail, and all three are logistics problems as much as experiences. Sunrise summit entry is permit-controlled, Hana is a ten-hour driving day, and Molokini boats vary wildly in size. Our ranking rewards operators who handle permits and keep boat capacity low. On Outty we rank every Maui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Molokini Crater + South Maui Coast Adventure from Kihei, Maui, Maui: VIP Private Road to Hana Tour with Pick Up, Road to Hana Adventure Maui Tour with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Maui?
+
April to May and September to October. Whale season runs December to April. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Maui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
