3-day trek from Ghorepani to Ghandruk

I contacted Gokul through GetYourGuide website. After arranging a successful scenic mountain flight for me, we arranged a trek to Ghorepani- Poonhill- Tadapani- Ghandruk. Three days in total. I was very lucky to be assigned Shiva as my guide. He has plenty of experience on these routes. I really enjoyed our conversations, specially when he explained me about Hinduism and Buddhism elements that we found in our way. Also I appreciate that he had enough patience to wait for me every time that I needed a rest and was constantly asking if everything was ok. He introduced me to some local dishes in our way, kindly took some pictures and dealt with all transport issues successfully. The advantage of this trek is that relatively short and very scenic. The first day we hike 4 hours, the second day 8 hours and the last day 3 hours. It is highly advisable to carry hiking poles, because there are a lot of ups and downs and when starting very early in the morning, it was common to find ice, therefore you should be ready for slippery surfaces. I did the trek in January, luckily we didn't find harsh weather conditions, as blizzards. However the temperature could be as low as -5 specially when climbing up to poonHill at 6 am in the morning. I highly recommend Gokul to organise your trip, and he has the plus that he speaks very good Spanish.

Response from the operator: Hola Cesar, Namaste 🙏 Saludos desde Nepal. Muchas gracias por la recomendación en detalles. Esperamos de nuevo poder organizar un viaje a Nepal. Namaste & Saludos, Gokul Sapkota.

    Poon Hill Trek

Our trek was the 5 day Poon Hill from Pokhara with Bishnu as our guide and was our first adventure of this kind. We had no expertise in climbing and next to no Nepalese - by the time we finished we felt we had tasted the culture and the Himalayas in a way we will always remember. The blend of trekking was fantastic! Some quite physically challenging moments (steps to Ulleri), some moments of real peace in the rhododendron forests and some moments of sheer amazement like Poon Hill itself. All these were taken in at our own pace with Bishnu adding so much ‘know how’ at every turn. The mountain villages are so welcoming and a regularly spaced along the way. Tea/coffee houses galore with some wonderful traditional food and western options if you want. The toilet facilities can be a concern for some - we found most were absolutely fine and none to be worse than many a service station in Britain. The rooms are largely down to your guide’s contacts and availability, Bishnu found us great rooms along the way and also integrated us with the locals, with whom he’s clearly very good friends. To some it up, we’d highly recommend booking with Outshine Adventures and if Bishnu is free ask for him. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. Nayām̐ barṣakō śubhakāmanā! Ben and Jenny

Response from the operator: Thank you so much. Hope to see you again soon. Namaste 🙏

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pokhara.

How much does Ghorepani Poonhill Trek cost?

    +

Prices start at $490 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pokhara usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ghorepani Poonhill Trek take?

    +

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pokhara is not rushed.

Is Ghorepani Poonhill Trek worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pokhara, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ghorepani Poonhill Trek?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ghorepani Poonhill Trek suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ghorepani Poonhill Trek?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pokhara can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pokhara and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ghorepani Poonhill Trek start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pokhara within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pokhara?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pokhara experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ghorepani - Poon Hill Trek 3N-4D, Annapurna Base Camp Trek -8 days, Annapurna Base Camp Treks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pokhara?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pokhara?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
