Booked this trip as an...
Booked this trip as an excursion from Cancun. It was an excellent day trip. Picked up at hotel right on time. Be advised-the vans are small and there’s not. Lot of leg room. Ariel was a fantastic guide-personable and knowledgeable. We did tulum first and Rio secreto second, which was ideal. Life jackets, helmets, wet suits, water shoes, and towels are all provided. Loved it!

Diana is great! The Wise travel is not reliable!
The experience itself was great and Diana aka Wonder woman was amazing and took time to explain stuff and took really good care of us! My complaint is with Wise travel. After completing booking and getting confirmation they changed fee/tax from $4 USD to $15 USD per person when asked gave some lame excuses, when reached their for experience they mentioned it is $20 USD per person. This made me question their integrity.
Response from the operator: Dear Sinchana, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience and that Diana took great care of you! Regarding the conservation fee, we completely understand your frustration. However, as of January 12, the federal government implemented an increase in this fee, raising it beyond our control. We strive to keep our guests informed of any changes, but unfortunately, this update was applied suddenly, and we had to adjust accordingly. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope this clarifies any concerns. If there’s anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reach out. Best regards,

Great
IT was a very interesting and impressive tour with a great tour guide Taimata. Her English was good understandable for non native speakers and she answered all questions in a very good and polite way. Thanks.

Miscommunication
Bound by excitement for a grand adventure, we eagerly anticipated the Rio Secreto and Tulum combo tour, only to be ensnared in a web of misfortune. Betrayed by the company's negligence, we found ourselves imprisoned in the beauty of Rio Secreto, yearning for the distant allure of Tulum. A second day dawned, a grueling pilgrimage to Tulum ensued, each hour of the two-way trek a reminder of lost time, a haunting echo in the corridors of missed opportunities amidst the breathtaking sites.
Response from the operator: Dear Irina, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We deeply regret that your anticipation for a grand adventure was met with disappointment due to the absence of the Tulum portion of our Rio Secreto and Tulum combo tour. We understand the impact of missed opportunities and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. We're grateful for your understanding and willingness to accept our offer to participate in the Tulum tour the following day. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continuously strive to improve our services and provide unforgettable experiences for our guests. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we look forward to the opportunity to make things right and ensure your future experiences with us are nothing short of exceptional.

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
