Spectacular Day with Pedro in Duoro Valley

We had a fantastic day in the Douro Valley with Pedro as our expert guide. The scenic views were some of the most beautiful we have ever seen. Pedro had a very full day planned with a great tasting of Douro wines and ports. We loved the conversation and learned so much about the valley and the different wines and ports. Pedro loves his city and the Duoro valley and it comes out in his passion for what he does. We had a wonderful lunch, port winery tour, boat ride on the Duoro River, and wonderful wine, cheese, and meat plate before our return to Porto. Pedro even helped with great ideas on how to spend our free time in Porto. A great guide and a better person who created a special day for us. We highly recommend it!!

Beautiful Douro, Wonderful wine and great company

Well we certainly had a day to remember from the moment Pedro picked us up from our apartment. Pedro the perfect guide nothing was too much trouble. He drove us to the Duoro valley while imparting his extensive knowledge with such passion and enthusiasm and humour. I think one if the things that struck me most about the day was the feeling that you felt like you were out for the day with friends rather than on some military regimented tour! The Douro is stunning and we were blessed with beautiful weather. The day included a visit to a state of the art Winery for a tour and tasting - I was impressed by their use of gravity rather than electric pumps to produce their delicious wine and port - eco wine what could be better than that! This was followed by a fabulous lunch at a typical Portuguese restaurant, a boat trip on the Douro and finally a visit to the home of a wine merchant where we were greeted with a warm welcome and enjoyed another extensive wine tasting while we sat on the terrace enjoying the evening sun and fabulous views. All in all amazing a truly ‘Wow!’ day and will definitely be going on another of Pedro’s stunning tours on my next visit to Porto. Thanks Pedro

+

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Porto and Douro Valley Private Wine Tour with Lunch?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Porto?

+

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
