Amazing experience
Our guide Michel was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My husband is slower moving due to a stroke and Michel showed great patience and care with him. I couldn't recommend this tour more. Just remember your sunscreen :)

It has been 10 years...
It has been 10 years since we last were in Playa and it sure has changed. Our tour was very informative and the weather not so great as it was a rainy day.

Great views of the area, a little uneasy with our tour guide.
This tour was a little scary, especially since three people from our group backed out at the last minute, leaving only the two of us. Our tour guide first told us that we could leave our belongings (like our purse) in the car. Of course, we did not do that. After we got out and walked across the street, he told us he had to go back and pay for parking. So we sat for a moment while he walked back to the car. During the tour, he shared a story about how, when he was younger, he used to take people’s cars, move them to a different spot in the parking lot, and watch them look for them. He told us about how he used to steal cigarettes in cars. We stopped at restaurant and got a drink. He volunteered to go and get the car and come back and get us which was a distance a way. We told him that we were fine walking with him as we enjoyed the extra steps. Some of the conversations throughout the trip made us a little nervous, so we started sharing our location with family. I do not recommend private tours for small female groups, especially if it’s just two people. While the places we visited were nice, the tour guide made us feel uneasy. Personally, I will not take a private tour again unless I'm with a larger group. I prefer group tours—and I’m a travel agent!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Mónica. We’re sorry that your experience with us didn’t meet your expectations, and we appreciate your comments. Allow me to clarify a few key points: 1. Cancellation of your companions: As you mentioned, three people from your group canceled at the last minute, which led to some operational adjustments in the tour organization. Despite this, we proceeded with the tour for you and your companion, adapting the logistics to ensure your experience was still comfortable and memorable. 2. Security and belongings: The recommendation to leave belongings in the vehicle is common in tours of this nature, especially when we’re in high-traffic areas. Our goal is always to ensure the comfort and security of our clients, and this suggestion is part of standard practice on many private tours. 3. The guide’s stories: We’d like to note that the anecdotes shared by our guide, José, were simply light-hearted stories from his youth. As professional guides, we maintain a strict policy regarding sensitive topics such as politics, religion, and violence to avoid misunderstandings. José always strives to provide an enjoyable experience, focusing on the region’s history and culture. 4. Comfort offer: During the tour, the guide offered to move the vehicle closer to the restaurant to save time and offer you more comfort. We understand you preferred to walk, and this was fully respected. However, we always strive to be proactive in serving our clients and providing the best possible service. 5. Generalization about private tours: As a travel agent, we understand that your experience with private tours can vary depending on the size of the group, but we would like to emphasize that our tours are designed to accommodate all groups, regardless of size, while always ensuring the same level of quality, personalized attention, and safety. Private tours offer a unique and exclusive experience, tailored to meet our clients' needs. 6. Experience review: We appreciate that you highlighted the places visited, but we noticed that your review didn’t mention any positive details about the excursion, which leaves an incomplete picture of the experience we provided. We encourage you to share both positive and negative aspects of your experience in the future to help us continuously improve. We hope that despite the concerns mentioned, you enjoyed the beauty of Playa del Carmen and its surroundings. Should you decide to take another tour with us in the future, we would be happy to offer you a more pleasant and tailored experience.

Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $71 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Day Knowing Playa del Carmen in Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
