What you'll see and do

  1. Karakoy

Our journey begins in Karaköy, one of Istanbul’s most atmospheric neighborhoods. We’ll dive deep into the narrow, winding backstreets that most travelers miss. You’ll feel the neighborhood’s energy as we visit local artisans and multi-generational shopkeepers who have been perfecting their craft for decades. Forget "tourist menus"—we are going where the locals stand in line. Once we’ve explored the European side’s hidden nooks, we head to the Karaköy Pier. Here, we’ll do what millions of Istanbulites do every day: hop on a public ferry to the Asian side. As we sail across the Bosphorus, you won't just be "transported", you’ll witness the most stunning skyline in the world. With the sea breeze in your hair and a view of the Maiden’s Tower, you’ll see exactly why this city has enchanted travelers for millennia.

  2. KadIkoy

Step off the ferry and leave the tourist crowds behind. Welcome to Kadıköy, the vibrant, bohemian heart of Istanbul’s Asian side. This is where the locals live, shop, andmost importantly gather to eat the best food in the city. While exploring the streets of Kadıköy, we will also continue tasting local foods.

great guides

The pacing was perfect—never rushed, never slow—and each tasting felt thoughtfully chosen. I especially appreciated how the guide connected each dish to local traditions and neighborhood history, making the experience feel personal and immersive.

Wonderful Tour in Istanbul

We had a three night stopover in Istanbul and just completed a food tour as well as a two day tour of the wonderful city. Kaan was very professional through the process. From the time we reached out he listened to our desires and put together a package that was exactly what we were looking for. He even was our guide during the food tour. He made sure we tried many traditional local dishes and provided a historical perspective behind the food and many of the restaurants we visited. Highly recommend the food tour and come hungry! On day two and three our guide was Zeynel. Another true professional that takes pride in his job and knows Istanbul history quite well. He is very down to earth and easy to converse with. He is quite flexible and able to make adjustments as necessary to accommodate his clients. He was a joy to work with. We are extremely happy with Reminder Tour Istanbul and would book through them again if we were ever in Turkey in the future. They even set up an airport transfer that takes all the stress out of arriving in a new country for the first time. If you are thinking of book through them just do it!

Insightful Knowledge and Honesty

They were honest and efficient with every interactions with me from beginning to end. Their tour guide, Zeynel was insightful and had touches of humor during our 2 day private tour of historical sites and a delicious food tour. He was even kind enough to help me with guidance and recommendations after our tour ended. Don't waste your time with others, Reminder will give you the best quality with the best prices in Istanbul.

AMAZING...

It was amazing the service they gave us, they didn’t neglect a single detail and even as they went along they fulfilled every request I made. Come to Turkey is wonderful, the war is not affecting her, the people are friendly and attentive. Language is not a barrier almost everyone speaks English and many Spanish. Don’t believe YouTubers, I came with my mother who is older, and even though we were two women alone NO ONE scammed us, or harassed us....people were super respectful and gentle especially with my mother.....I LOVED TURKEY.....THANK YOU TOTALLY TO REMINDER AND HIS TEAM (Umit, Sofia, Talha, etc, etc, etc)

Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.

How much does Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.

Is Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Flavors of Istanbul A Two Continent Private Food Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Istanbul?

+

On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Istanbul?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Istanbul?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
