About this experience
While in the city or port at Lisbon, take a private half- or full-day tour to Fátima, a world-famous pilgrimage site where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared. Accompanied by a private guide, explore the sacred shrine. See the Our Lady of Fátima Sanctuary (Nossa Senhora de Fátima Santuario) and enjoy free time to attend Mass or light a candle. If you opt for the full-day tour, make a stop for a local lunch (not included) and visit the houses of the little children (now saints Francisco and Saint Jacinta) in Valinhos and Aljustrel, where the three local children who saw the apparition lived.

Fatima tour with candlelight procession
The tour of Fatima was fine and we left Lisbon promptly at 4pm. It was a nice touch to visit the village where the children lived before going to the shrine for Mass and the candlelight procession. It was also interesting to hear the history and understand how things were with regards to religion and politics in Portugal in 1917. Unfortunately the downside was the driver using his phone to text whilst driving at speed on the A1. It made me extremely anxious and I asked him not to do it. As it was an evening tour, we were returning to Lisbon around midnight and I stayed awake to make sure that there was no more texting, which there wasn't; however, I was concerned that he messed with the dashboard screen rather a lot, to choose his music to listen to on the return journey. The tour was expensive, with an additional 200 euro charged in excess of the full day tour rate due to the evening tour (making the total cost 780 euro), and it was really disappointing to spend a lot of money for a tour for two people and end up feeling nervous about the car journey.

Promised come true at Fatima.
Duarte was our tour guide and he was great! It was my husband’s first trip to Fatima and my second. We only wanted to spend time at Fatima and it was so worth it. It’s heaven on earth, and having Duarte bring us to the museum next to the Basilica, and the wax museum was added blessings. He made sure we had time to hear Mass in English at 3:30. We were very comfortable with spending the day with him. It was like we’ve known him already. We learned a lot of things about Portugal through Duarte who is very knowledgeable. A big thank you to Duarte. We definitely recommend him and hope we can come back soon and have him tour us again, and this time to different locations here in Lisbon and beyond.

Fabulous trip to Fatima!
Vasco was an amazing tour guide. He was so kind and personable and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to take us to this unbelievable place. He gave us time to attend a mass and was so knowledgeable about Fatima and Lisbon. Please, if you are heading to Lisbon or Fatima, ask for our new friend Vasco!

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon cost?
+
Prices start at $245 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 79 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon?
+
Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Fatima Sanctuary Private Tour from Lisbon start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
