Great day trip to Fatima and Coimbra

Rodolfo from Feeglo Portugal worked on December 31st to take me - a lone passenger - on a day trip from Porto to Fatima and Coimbra... With most sites closed on that day, he made the best of it explaining the history and architecture... and all the stories behind these amazing towns... thank you Rodolfo and can't wait to be back!

    2 thumbs down 👎👎

We booked a private tour for four people and a private driver after being assured that the trip could be tailored to suit our needs. I have already communicated with the Tour operator in Portugal who did not address our concerns. We asked our driver Paulo to stop at Bathala about 10 minutes from Fatima but he would not and said that Coimbra was very nice and interesting. We had already expressed to him that Coimbra was not our priority. We were not given warning that lunch reservation was made for 1 o’clock and were told we only had 20 minutes left at Fatima while we were still in the gift shop. During our trip home, Paulo was asked if he could pull over because the car was very small and compact and one of the passenger’s legs were up at the dashboard. His legs were cramped and the driver would not pull over while continuing to drive at 150 km/h. Our driver seemed angry, and since we were in a foreign country, relying on him to get us back to the hotel we said nothing further. A very disappointing and expensive private excursion that I would not recommend if the driver is Paulo Santos.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your rating. We regret that your experience, which, as usual, was below your expectations. Our clients have and appreciate the flexibility of time we offer in the locations included in the tour, in this case in the cities of Fátima and Coimbra. The visit to the city of Batallha involves an additional 1 hour and 100kms more than the planned itinerary, substantially altering the content and plan of the experience, something that better and timely communication could have been resolved. We hope that you will soon be able to return to our beloved Portugal and we promise to do everything possible to fill you with good memories!

    Great tour

We were able to tailor the tour to exactly what we wanted to see and the guide even took us to added recommended spot.

Response from the operator: Our tours are always private and exclusive, allowing adaptations at the request of the client to provide the best experience for the client. We are very pleased with your recognition.

Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.

How much does Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto cost?

    +

Prices start at $373 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.

Is Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Fátima and Coimbra Private Tour from Porto start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Porto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
