Overall a great experience! Check water conditions prior to booking.

This rating reflects the experience itself, not the staff, who were absolutely fantastic. Everyone was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and safe. The equipment was also in great condition. The mangrove paddle was a unique experience, and it was fun exploring the tunnels. However, because of the large amount of sargassum, the water had a strong odor and was brown instead of the clear turquoise water we were hoping to see. There is a small island you can paddle to where the water is much clearer. We enjoyed seeing baby crabs, hermit crabs, and lots of fish, but it’s not really a beach where you can get out and swim. The facility has great air conditioning inside, but I do wish they offered air-conditioned changing rooms and an actual shower instead of just a water hose to rinse off. After spending time in the Florida heat, those additions would make a big difference. Overall, the staff and equipment were outstanding, but the natural conditions kept this from being the experience we had hoped for.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and complementing our hardworking staff and air conditioning! Just to clarify We do have a changing room inside our shop with AC as well as a fresh water shower directly above our hose out back :-) Just a few educational points to touch on for future guests: This time of year does comes with sargassum in the keys! The sargassum will vary from day to day due to the tide changes, wind, etc. If this is something that concerns you, calling before heading over for an onsite rental is best! The mangrove Island right off of Tavernier Creek is a great place to explore and find all different kinds of wildlife! As the keys are built on an ancient fossilized coral reef, you will find lots pieces of coral and less sand! The tides will also affect how much of the island is exposed and how much swimming area there will be. Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a review and we hope you enjoyed your time here in the keys!

There were 3 of us. One...

There were 3 of us. One rented a SUP and other two of us single kayaks for the day. Equipment was in great shape and staff very helpful. We brought a cooler with drinks and snacks that nicely fit strapped in the kayak. Paddled the mangroves to the lagoon and then went to the island. Saw nurse shark, dolphins, upside down jellyfish, small baby fish and a horseshoe crab at the island.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review, Donna! We are so happy to hear you were able to explore both the mangroves and the island! Both are VERY different but equally beautiful! Wildlife is always a wonderful bonus and it sounds like you guys got to see a lot! Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a review! We hope to see you again in the future for another adventure!

    Awesome 🤘🏼

The staff was very warm and welcoming, they gave us advice, informed us, as well as answered any questions we had. The overall experience going out on the water was lovely.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review, Robert! We try to make every guest feel as informed and comfortable before they get out on the water as we can! I'm delighted to hear your visit reflected that! Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a review! We hope to see you again in the future for another paddling adventure!

    Unique fun adventure *****

Amazing experience!! We rented 2 single kayaks. Paddling through the mangroves was such a fun, very unique adventure. Sometimes we had to literally pull ourselves forward along the beautiful trees as the passage was so narrow. However, we felt safe all the time. Saw lots of fish, little crabs on the branches, jellyfish … We did not paddle to the tiny island where you can onboard for a while. Next time :) Entire staff is super nice! Totally recommend to book this experience *****

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed exploring the mangroves and experiencing beautiful Tavernier Creek. Those narrow mangrove tunnels can definitely make for an exciting adventure, and we are glad you felt safe and comfortable throughout your paddle. Seeing different species of fish, crabs and other wildlife along the way is always a special part of the experience! We're happy our team helped make your day enjoyable, and we truly appreciate your recommendation! We hope to see you again soon for a paddle out to the island!

    Excellent

Fun place to kayak through the mangroves! Cool cave to go up, saw manatees, jellyfish and other fish.

Response from the operator: We're glad you enjoyed exploring the mangroves and spotting some of the cool local wildlife! Sounds like you had a great day on the water with the manatees, jellyfish, and fish putting on a show. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, and we hope to see you back again soon!

Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key Largo.

How much does Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental cost?

    +

Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key Largo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key Largo is not rushed.

Is Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 100 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Key Largo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental?

    +

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key Largo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key Largo and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Explore Mangrove Creeks with an All Day SUP/single kayak Rental start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key Largo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Key Largo?

    +

Key Largo is the dive and snorkel capital of the Keys: John Pennekamp reef trips, Christ of the Abyss snorkels, glass-bottom boats, sunset sails and backcountry eco tours. On Outty we rank every Key Largo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Key Largo Two Reef Snorkel Tour - All Snorkel Equipment Included!, Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys, Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Adventure in Key Largo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Key Largo?

    +

December to May for clear water and calm seas. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Key Largo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
