Very unique experience, good and bad things about our experience
The day we did the paddle - right after hurricane Rafael - Sunny day, ocean was clam - wind is still relatively strong on our way back from the mangrove to the dock Understood it's not the perfect condition for kayaking, we still gave it a shot. what is good: - staff is very helpful, they set accurate expectation before we get on the kayak - one mantee was at the dock right behind the shop - we met some dolphins in the first few minute of our kayaking - it's a unique experience to paddle inside the mangrove not so good: - we didn't see any interesting wildlife after the first few minutes, pretty much small fishes and jellyfishes - visibility to the seabed is not that good, it's like cloudy and we can barely see the bottom inside the mangrove - tons of tiny bugs inside the mangrove, they are like a tiny black dots and they bite - is it worth to go? it's probably not worth to go in a bad weather day, but that's very unique experience which I recommend people to try. Bring a insect repellent, and probably go with a guide, you will get more value from that.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the five star review and for sharing the highlights of your trip! We're thrilled that despite the post storm conditions, you were able to enjoy encounters with manatees and dolphins, and that paddling through the mangroves was a unique experience. As for the bugs, you're absolutely right! While they typically aren’t an issue, there are a few weeks each year when they’re more active. We make sure to let guests know in the confirmation email and at arrival so they can prepare, and insect repellent is always a great idea. Thank you again for the recommendation, and we hope to see you for another paddle on a calm, clear day!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled you had an awesome time and enjoyed seeing sharks, fish, and even raccoons along the way. Racoons are defiantly rare to see on the mangrove trail! It's fantastic to hear our team and equipment made your adventure even better. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another adventure!

Wonderful paddle experience
Great customer service, extremely stable and easy to paddle stand up paddle boards and a fabulous location. We rented in November and saw manatees (including a baby manatee), small nurse sharks and iguanas. 2 Great paddle routes- one to the mangroves and one to an island off the coast. We were able to do them both. Very reasonable dialy flat rate which is much more relaxing than renting by the hour and trying to time everything. The shop is really nice too with lots of sun shirts.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience with our paddleboard rental. We are happy to hear that the customer service was great and the rental board was easy for you to use. It sounds like you had quite the adventure being able to see manatees, sharks, and some iguanas. We are very fortunate to have such a rich biodiversity in our backyard! Thank you again and we look forward to hosting you again in the future!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key Largo.
How much does Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental cost?
+
Prices start at $67 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key Largo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key Largo is not rushed.
Is Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Key Largo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key Largo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key Largo and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Explore the Mangrove Creeks with an ALL Day Tandem Kayak Rental start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key Largo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Key Largo?
+
Key Largo is the dive and snorkel capital of the Keys: John Pennekamp reef trips, Christ of the Abyss snorkels, glass-bottom boats, sunset sails and backcountry eco tours. On Outty we rank every Key Largo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Key Largo Two Reef Snorkel Tour - All Snorkel Equipment Included!, Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys, Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Adventure in Key Largo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Key Largo?
+
December to May for clear water and calm seas. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Key Largo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
