Our tours are geared towards first time and new paddlers.  We go at your speed so you don't have to worry about going out and getting exhausted.  Grab a friend and come along for a unique adventure on the #1-rated Eco-Tour through the mangrove ecosystem. Choose your kayak - single or double - and glide in our shallow clear water over sponges, grass beds, and sandy patches. Looking down, you might see a small nurse shark, turtle, or stingray, or can observe dolphins and manatees. Above water, herons, pelicans, and ospreys settle on the mangroves and hunt for fish. While there are no guaranteed wildlife sightings, we always see something cool in this one-of-a-kind estuary ecosystem that starts right outside the back door of our shop.

    Tandem kayak tour

We had a great guided tour with Matt. He was very knowledgeable and told a few corny jokes. We were disappointed we didn’t see any manatees or wildlife other than a small stingray and a few birds, but realize that is out of anyone’s control. One suggestion, wish they provided dry bags to use on the tour. Overall a nice experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for joining us and for taking the time to leave a review! We're glad you enjoyed your tour with Matt, corny jokes and all! That's the beauty of Mother Nature! You never know what you're going to see, or what you might not see, which is what makes every tour so unique and special! As for the dry bags, we've actually tried providing them in the past. Unfortunately, a few ruined it for many by puncturing or damaging the bags without letting us know. This resulted in other guests unknowingly using damaged bags and having their phones or other valuables ruined. Because of this, we made the decision to no longer provide them. We hope you can understand! Thanks again for paddling with us, and we hope to see you back out on the water for another adventure!

    Enjoyable guided wildlife paddling tour

Our kayak guided tour was fun and educational. 2 hours was the perfect length of time to be on the water and experience wildlife. We floated with 3 manatees! Out guide Britany was exceptional! Her knowledge and paddling experience made our experience 5 star.

Response from the operator: Sounds like an awesome tour! Brittany is great and really knows her stuff. Happy to hear you got some quality manatee time too! Thanks for coming out with us and for the awesome review! We look forward to having you back someday!

    Fantastic experience!

This was a fantastic experience! We saw a multitude of manatees, nurse sharks, birds, jellyfish, etc. Of course it’s going to depend on the day and factors outside of the guides’ control what wildlife you may see on your tour. We were very lucky. The guides were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and able to answer all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour! It was the highlight of our trip to Key Largo.

Response from the operator: Sounds like you guys had a great day out there! You definitely got lucky with all that wildlife. Really appreciate the review and glad the tour ended up being a highlight of your trip! Thats exactly what we strive for with every trip! Hope to see you again someday!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key Largo.

How much does Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key Largo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key Largo is not rushed.

Is Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 1,418 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Key Largo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour?

    +

Around 496 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key Largo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key Largo and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key Largo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Key Largo?

    +

Key Largo is the dive and snorkel capital of the Keys: John Pennekamp reef trips, Christ of the Abyss snorkels, glass-bottom boats, sunset sails and backcountry eco tours. On Outty we rank every Key Largo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Key Largo Two Reef Snorkel Tour - All Snorkel Equipment Included!, Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys, Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Adventure in Key Largo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Key Largo?

    +

December to May for clear water and calm seas. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Key Largo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
