About this experience
Come join us SCUBA diving some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many different reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different sites on the reef. The sites are chosen by the captain based on the day's sea conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific sites. IMPORTANT: You MUST be SCUBA certified with recent dive experience for this activity. If you have not been diving in more than one year, you may be required to hire a guide at an additional charge. If you have not been diving in over two years, you will be required to take a refresher course. Single divers may be required to hire a guide.

Loved the experienced staff and organization Sometimes dive operators provide a dive master included with the reservation However the explanation from the captain on the layout of the reefs was good enough to navigate.

We appreciate your feedback regarding guided dives and are happy to hear the captain's reef briefing helped you navigate with confidence. We hope to welcome you back for another great dive soon!

Pirates Cove Watersports 5⭐️
Booked with a friend who did the discover scuba diving course. Nate was his dive master instructor. He was absolutely phenomenal! He was so patient with him every step of the way from the pool to the first DIVE on the REEF to the second DIVE on the REEF- kept him safe and right by his side. It was really fun for me as an experienced diver to see the process. If you have always wanted to learn how to dive, but only have a short amount of time, you can learn in a weekend. There will be a master Diver right next to you to keep you safe while you explore the magnificent beauty of the underwater world!!! Captain Katie and the first mate were also super professional and fun. Look no further, Pirates Cove watersports in Key Largo is the place to go this summer!

Amazing week of Diving
Captains Katie, Brad and John are the best in the Keys. always a safe and enjoyable dive trip every time we go out. Scuba Joe is always good for some laughs but one of the best boat mates out there. you can't go wrong with Pirates Cove crew and staff which is why we trust them with our dive trips year after year.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your amazing review and for continuing to choose Pirates Cove Watersports year after year! We're honored to have earned your trust. We'll be sure to share your kind words with Captains Katie, Brad, John, and Scuba Joe. We appreciate your support and look forward to many more great dive trips with you. See you again soon!

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key Largo.
How much does Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys cost?
+
Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key Largo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key Largo is not rushed.
Is Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 177 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Key Largo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys?
+
Around 62 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key Largo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key Largo and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Scuba Diving Trip in the Florida Keys start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key Largo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Key Largo?
+
Key Largo is the dive and snorkel capital of the Keys: John Pennekamp reef trips, Christ of the Abyss snorkels, glass-bottom boats, sunset sails and backcountry eco tours. On Outty we rank every Key Largo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Key Largo Two Reef Snorkel Tour - All Snorkel Equipment Included!, Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys, Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Adventure in Key Largo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Key Largo?
+
December to May for clear water and calm seas. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Key Largo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
