Cancun Mayan Tours violets tourists personal data

In 21st of November I took this excursion and my personal data have been used against my will. Cancun Mayan Travel has no control of what Contoy Adventures who is handling the tour is doing with your personal data. I have been forced to take a picture and was explained that this is for the registration when I clearly stated that Indont want any picture next to the old steering wheel. When I asked mother epmloyee who was boarding us, what they do with the pictures they told that they send it to the office and they are never deleted. When we were returning from the tour I saw the photographer with the printed pictures taken at the beginning and selling them to the tourists! It is third day I am fighting with Cancun Mayan Travel, Stap Travel & Tours viator.com to have a written confirmation that my picture has been deleted balexause after asking twice the photographer never deleted it. He just told me he that he deleted but it was never with my presence. Regarding the trip, the trip is horrible snorkeling is in the dark water and you never reach Playa Norte you have to walk by yourself 20 min. You are being guided to the store with diamonds to lose your precious time on Isla Mujeres. You have only one hour of free time on Isla Mujeres during lunch and 2 hours to reach by yourself Playa Norte so for the beach time you have o my one hour. The tour starts in Punta Sam which is super far from the hotel zone, there are many more trips from the hotel zone to Isla Mujeres. Absolutely don’t recommend it!

Response from the operator: I'm sincerely sorry to hear about your negative experience with Cancun Mayan Travel and Contoy Adventures during your excursion on November 21st. Your privacy and satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us, and we deeply regret any inconvenience or discomfort caused by the mishandling of your personal data and the unsatisfactory tour experience. We take your concerns regarding the unauthorized use of your personal data very seriously. It is unacceptable for your wishes regarding photography to be disregarded, and we apologize for any distress this may have caused you. We will investigate this matter further and take appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. Regarding the tour itself, we apologize that it did not meet your expectations. Your feedback regarding the snorkeling conditions, the lack of time at Playa Norte, and the unwelcome visit to a diamond store is valuable, and we will address these issues with our partners to improve the quality of our excursions. Please rest assured that we are actively working to resolve your concerns regarding the deletion of your picture and to provide you with a written confirmation as requested. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we will do everything in our power to make this right for you. Once again, we apologize for the negative aspects of your experience and appreciate your feedback. Do not recommend

Do not go on this trip if you have kids under 12 years old. My 9 year old (who is a strong swimmer and snorkeled in open water just the day before) was heartbroken when we got to the snorkeling stop and they said she couldn't go because the minimum is 12 for "insurance reasons." Seeing her cry and be upset is not my idea of a good time on vacation. THIS AGE MINIMUM WAS NOT COMMUNICATED ON THE TOUR DESCRIPTION, IN ANY OF THE EMAILS, OR ANYWHERE ON THE WEBSITE. There were a few nice aspects of the trip, the water is beautiful and so is Isla Contoy. The stop at Isla Mujeres was ok, but kind of a waste at only one hour. AND it was kind of shady how the "meetup" spot on the island happened to be some guy's diamond shop. Convenient! LOL. Also, a minor point but the boat in the picture for this trip is not the one you take - it's much bigger and there are a TON of people along. Sailing home from the island was extremely slow - 2 hours. We didn't pull into the dock until 6:20 pm. Bottom line, would I go back to Isla Contoy? Yes but NOT on this tour.

Response from the operator: Hello Miss Amy, We regret that it was not what you would have wanted, due to security policies, depending on how the sea is, they may or may not allow children under 12 years of age to snorkel, since the group goes at different rhythm. In your tour that you do with us we will offer you the next discount

    Not a good experience overall

Despite having assurance that children 6 years old and up could snorkel, they would not allow my 8 year old or 11 year old snorkel. Further, they ran out of masks and many of the fins were broken. Isla Contoy was beautiful.

Response from the operator: Hello Miss Erin, We are sorry for the situation that happened, and we offer you a great apology, in addition to offering you a discount on your next tour that you book with us, thanks to your comment we were able to renew snorkel equipment so that the same thing does not happen in the future

    Amazing.

Everything itself is spectacular. The guides: Wing, Lara and Tlaltemoa, Captain and Cook Rudolph and his assistants Levi and Pearl all 10. They were attentive to everyone and always friendly and formidable explaining everything.

Response from the operator: Hola Srta. Sagra, Nos complace saber que disfruto de la compañía de nuestro staff, siempre buscamos brindar un servicio de primera, esperamos que vuelva pronto

    Paradise Island for your birthday

It was a beautiful trip on my birthday. The travel companions Tla, Karin and Vssyl have informed and entertained us wonderfully. Thank you very much this trip is worth his money and highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Wir freuen uns, dass Sie Ihren Geburtstag gemeinsam mit unseren Mitarbeitern genießen, wir hoffen, dass Sie bald wiederkommen und ihn noch mehr genießen.

Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun cost?

    +

Prices start at $132 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 38 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Excursion Isla Contoy & Isla Mujeres from Cancun start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
