Renjo La Pass and Gokyo Ri summit - April 2026

We were a group of 10 friends and did Renjo La Pass and Gokyo Ri summit with Higher Path Treks. Karma Sherpa organised our trip, welcomed us at Kathmandu airport, and ensured the whole trip went smoothly. Our lead guide was Jangbu Sherpa and he was accompanied by 2 other assistant guides and a team of porters. The entire trip was very well organised, with good acclimitisation planning, clear briefings, and a good selection of tea houses throughout. We had a few friends fall sick during the trip - not uncommon for such treks - and the Higher Paths team went above and beyond to ensure they were safe and having a good time. They were also very resourceful in providing options to continue the trip on horseback and exit via Helicopter. They are very observant, without being intrusive. Having done Annapurna with another service provider, I can say that Higher Path's dedication to their guests is unparalleled. Karma is also involved in numerous social and philanthropic endeavors in his village in Khumbu, which makes supporting his company even mor e meaningful. Safe to say we've found our go-to service provider for future treks and expeditions in Nepal!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your Renjo La Pass and Gokyo Ri adventure with us. It was our absolute pleasure to welcome your group to Nepal and organize your trek. We are delighted to hear that you appreciated the planning, acclimatization schedule, tea house selection, and the support provided throughout the journey. Jangbu Sherpa, our assistant guides, and porter team will be especially pleased to know their dedication and care made a positive impact on your experience. High-altitude trekking can present unexpected challenges, and we're grateful for your recognition of our team's efforts to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of every member of your group. Our priority is always to provide the best possible support while helping our guests achieve their trekking goals safely. Your kind words comparing us to your previous trekking experience mean a great deal to us. We are also deeply touched that you recognized our commitment to giving back to the Khumbu community. Supporting local communities and creating meaningful travel experiences are values that are at the heart of Higher Path Treks. Thank you once again for your trust, your recommendation, and for choosing Higher Path Treks. We look forward to welcoming you and your friends back to Nepal for another unforgettable trekking or mountaineering adventure in the future. Warm regards, Karma Sherpa( MD) Higher Path Treks & Expedition

A grand adventure climbing and trekking with Higher Path Treks and Expeditions.

An amazing and wonderful adventure. I can highly recommend Higher Path Treks and Expeditions, owner Karma Sherpa, and his professional team for any travelers going to Nepal. We were a group of 3 blending a climbing trip for my son and our friend to Phari Lapche and Cholatse along with a trek to Gokyo Ri, over Cho La pass, and to Kala Patthar for me. From our first greeting at the airport to our final departure Karma Sherpa and the Higher Path Treks and Expeditions team exhibited exceptional professionalism, flexibility, honesty and hospitality. A cyclone arrived on our first day in Kathmandu snarling all air traffic, in conjunction with a major holiday which impacted road travel. Karma was able to still get us up to Lukla to begin our trek using a broad network of contacts and his local experience to locate alternative transportation, when many travelers remained stuck in Kathmandu. From Lukla Karma’s professional guide Jangbu and assistant guide Parsu presented the same attributes and were just fun to be with. Our 3 porters were also full of humor and good advice, and I felt all of them were keeping an eye on us to make sure we were safe and experienced the best possible adventure. A highlight for me was photographing Himalayan Tar, Himalayan Musk deer, and the 9 colored Himalayan Monal at close range thanks to Parsu and porter Lhakpa who “knew where to look” and guided me to the perfect location. I look forward to returning to Nepal for another adventure with Karma and his team for I know it will be a wonderful experience

Response from the operator: Dear John, Thank you very much for choosing Higher Path Treks and Expedition and for taking our services. We truly appreciate you joining the Phari Lapcha Peak and Cholatse Peak expedition with our team. A big congratulations on the successful completion of your trip! We look forward to welcoming you again for another beautiful adventure in the future. Warm regards, Higher Path Treks and Expedition Team

Awesome trek to the Everest Base Camp!

The main guide and assistant were exceptional, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs! They ensured our time was spent efficiently, and I truly appreciated how thoughtfully they planned ahead, even arranging our meals at tea houses in advance. Their attention to detail made the experience seamless and enjoyable.

We are delighted to hear that our guide and assistant exceeded your expectations and made your trek both enjoyable and seamless. Our team takes great pride in planning every detail carefully, from organizing daily schedules to arranging meals at the tea houses, so our guests can focus on enjoying the incredible Himalayan scenery. Your kind words about their dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to accommodating your needs mean a great deal to us. Thank you once again for choosing Higher Path Treks. It was a pleasure to be part of your adventure, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Nepal for another unforgettable trekking experience. Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup cost?

+

Prices start at $1990 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup take?

+

Plan for about 336 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable nightlife in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 72 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 15. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 336-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 336-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Gokyo Trek Multi Day Private Tour with Pickup start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
