A fabulous trek with a top class company

We have just returned from EBC and Gokyo Lake trek. Pariwar holidays have been amazing. They are a family firm and treat you just like their own family with care and attention. My husband and I are in our 60s and felt safe and cared for throughout our trek by Prakash and Ram. Mr Manoj oversaw the trek and I always had good communication with him. As it was just the 2 of us we could go at our own pace and there was flexibility if we needed to change. The price of the trek is excellent. This is our second trek with Pariwar and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. We have become part of their family. If you are thinking of trekking in Nepal this is the company to use. You will be in very safe hands and will have an incredible experience.

Response from the operator: Dear Caroline Boardmen, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your 16 days Everest base camp and Gokyo trek adventure. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us continue to improve our services. If you have any suggestions or specific highlights from your trip that you'd like to share, we’d love to hear them! We hope to see you on another trek in the future and we are looking forward for your recommendation to your family and friends in upcoming days. Warm Regards From Pariwar Holidays Pvt. Ltd and Team

First class in every respect

This is the second time that I have used this company for treks in Nepal. The service is excellent- good communication before leaving the UK, met at Kathmandu airport and taken to our hotel, flights to Lukla and then back again. After 16 days in the cold dry air, I had a sore throat, but a visit to a spa with steam room was thoughtfully arranged and it did the trick! On the trek, our guide, Prakash Giri, was 5 stars in every sense- his knowledge of the mountains is such that should any deviation from the “agreed” route be necessary (tiredness, weather or whatever) he sorts it without any stress to you. He consulted closely with us at all times, whilst allowing us to enjoy the mountain experience in peace. I cannot praise them enough and I’m already tentatively planning my visit for 2026

Everest base camp and cho la pass trek

If you want a kind quiet knowlegable guide that knows the ups and downs of the Himalayas and just gets you where you want to be, Lochan is your guy. We never got lost or gone without a comfortable lodging, even on the most crowded places. I did a 14 day trek with him and he kept up with my walking style no matter how fast or slow I was going. He also adapted each day according to how we were feeling/willing to do and never allowed this to hinder our overall experience. I cannot recommend Lochan more if you are looking for a guide that gets it done. The only less positive thing I have to say is that he could improve his English level, but he is working on it.

Everest Base Camp Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Base Camp Trek cost?

+

Prices start at $1600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Base Camp Trek take?

+

Plan for about 384 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 104 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp Trek?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 384-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp Trek?

+

Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 384-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Base Camp Trek start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
