One of the best Private Tours we have taken!

My daughter and I were lucky to have Nuno Ferreira as our private tour guide on our Douro Valley wine tasting and boat tour. The tour was excellent and we enjoyed the personalized private tour experience with Nuno Ferreira from ANETOURS. Nuno was extremely knowledgeable about not only Portugal but about life in general. We enjoyed learning from him and he drove us to stunning view sites. He spoke English very well, was always attentive and engaging, and was always punctual. Nuno is very smart, kind, and professional. He was always a gentleman and always opened our car doors for us. The Mercedes Benz we rode in was very comfortable and clean. It was an amazing day and one of the best private tours we have taken. Nuno is a class-act and we highly recommend this tour and Nuno if you are in Portugal.

    A Perfect Birthday

We had an incredible private tour to the Douro Valley with Marco and could not have asked for a better guide. From the moment the tour started, he shared so many interesting historical details and fun facts about Porto, the Douro Valley, and Portugal that made the entire experience even more meaningful and enjoyable. Marco also went above and beyond by making a wonderful last-minute lunch reservation for us at Rabelo, where we were treated exceptionally well and had a fantastic dining experience. Everything throughout the day felt seamless, relaxed, and thoughtfully planned. His knowledge and professionalism made this one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend Marco to anyone looking for a memorable and personalized experience in the Douro Valley.

Exceptional private wine tour and stunning river yacht cruise

We had 6 ladies in our private wine tour. Racquel did a wonderful job of explaining the wine making process at Sandeman winery, ending with a special port tasting. We were provided a magnificent lunch buffet with 3 wines looking out onto the Duoro Valley and surrounding wineries, absolutely beautiful. We completed our day with a cruise on the river. It was relaxing and magical! Very nice to see the wineries from the river. Our driver Marco provided our transportation to and from this excursion and also two other days of transportation. We could not have been happier. The man was so informative about the Portuguese culture, kind and PATIENT, as we forgot personal items and needed extra stops along the way. We would all definitely request his services again. We could not have asked for better service from a driver.

Liked all guides/drivers but didn’t like Lousa. It was too remote, rather see Sintra or must sees

I really enjoyed the Douro Valley wine tour. Beautiful vineyard, fun picnic lunch and gorgeous scenery. We really liked our driver Marco as well!!

Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.

How much does Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $449 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.

Is Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Douro Valley private tour with wine tasting and boat tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Porto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
