    Too crowded

The tour was advertised as a small group experience with no more than 12 people. There were 28 snorkelers on the boat. We made 2 stops on the way out to the reef to fit more on. There were not enough fins for everyone and the snorkel I had had nothing left to bite on to keep it on your mouth and it leaked. It was less annoying to go without the snorkel. They also wouldn’t let us apply reef friendly sunscreen. The water was warm and clear and the salsa and pico were very good. The guides were friendly and did their best to work with so many people who were unhappy about the false advertising. I would choose a different tour if I were to go back.

Bring you own fins if you want them.

It was a fun trip and the crew was great. The only thing to note is that they do not provide fins. I brought fins on the trip but didn't bring them for this excursion as equipment was provided, but fins were not so that was a little disappointing

Response from the operator: Dear customer, Thank you for your review We’re glad to hear you had a fun trip and enjoyed our crew. We’re sorry for the confusion regarding the fins. Fins are available on the boat, and we regret if this was not clearly communicated to you during the excursion. We truly appreciate your feedback and will work on making the equipment information clearer for our guests. We hope to welcome you back to Cozumel for another great experience. Awesome Trip.

Our guide was fantastic! He showed us so many sea creatures in the reefs that we would have missed. He also shepherded the fish around the reefs so we can see them all. Well planned trip to 4 different locations. Water clarity was superb. Fish was abundant. I would do it again.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, Thank you for your review! We’re so happy to hear that your guide helped you discover marine life and that you enjoyed the different snorkeling locations. It’s wonderful to know you appreciated the clear water and abundance of fish. We would love to welcome you back to Cozumel for another unforgettable day! Great snorkeling day for family fun

Our family had the best day! Our guide Memo and his captain were funny, informative and super helpful. My kids are still talking about swimming with sharks! Make sure you follow directions and have cash at the desk like it says when booking. Wear your bathing suit because there’s really no place to change. It’s a long and incredibly fun day. Highly recommend bringing a phone pouch so you can take pictures. The crew was so helpful getting our kids in and out of the boat at each snorkeling spot to make sure everyone had an amazing time.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, Thank you for your review! We’re delighted that your family had such a great day with Memo and our captain. It’s especially nice to hear that your kids are still talking about swimming with the sharks! This is our main goal, providing excellent experiences! We truly appreciate your kind words about the crew and their assistance with your children throughout the excursion. We thank you for the helpful tips as well, and we hope to see your family again in Cozumel! We remain at your service, The Cozumel Tours team

    Terrible

The guide didn't provide the right life jacket for not good swimmers. Instead of doing his job he was busy cleaning his boat so crazy I have never witnessed that in my life. Then at the end it's inappropriate to pass around the tip jar because no everyone knows who tip and you didn't so not professional. I had the tip ready for him but he wasn't attentive or care so I didn't tip. Then the store is rip off.

Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.

How much does Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs cost?

    +

Prices start at $62 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.

Is Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 1,615 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs?

    +

Around 565 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cozumel Snorkeling Tour: Palancar, Columbia and El Cielo Reefs start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cozumel?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cozumel?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cozumel?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
