What you get
About this experience
A 21-mile self-guided audio driving tour from Point Reyes National Seashore to the town of Tomales. Just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, fifth-generation sheep rancher Bill Jensen guides recalcitrant lambs through a foot bath. A few miles down the road, Bob Giacomini checks out his high-tech milking barn. Bill and Bob are part of a rich agricultural community of dairy farmers, cattle and sheep ranchers and oyster growers in West Marin County. How was this rural paradise, so close to a major metropolitan area, saved from development? A lot of the credit goes to two women who came up with a unique idea...

No cell range for Verizon phone during this portion of the trip so it never get - located or activated the tour!
This is probably a grey Troy However it is activated by location and given that there is no cell range or gps available in this are for either our Verizon or AT&T phones we couldn’t access the tour
Response from the operator: Hi there, When you booked through Tripadvisor, we sent you instructions via email and SMS. In these instructions, we recommend downloading the tour before you set off for the starting point. VoiceMap tours work offline, but it's best if you download your tour using a strong WiFi connection. Then, when you're en route, you can take the tour 100% offline. It sounds like you may not have read these instructions. If you didn't receive the instructions, please let us know at support@voicemap.me, and we will process a full refund. Regards, Brent

Informative and entertaining.
Enjoyed the area history and information on current industries. Would have liked to have some information on the flora and fauna. Overall very interesting

Don't buy from via tour
It was a terrible experience. It wouldn't work. When I called the customer service there were no help and I should have known better because it was an 100% no money back. Don't buy it from here. You can buy it from other sources like voice map. It worked great from them but I had to buy it twice
Response from the operator: Hi Denise, I'm sorry you had a poor experience. What number did you phone for support? Often, these calls don't come to us directly, so it may be that an intermediary gave you incorrect information. Just to clarify: we are VoicMap. Our VoiceMap tours are listed on Viator - you're just purchasing through Viator rather than us directly. But we appreciate the positive sentiment shared about VoiceMap, despite your overall poor experience with the rest of the purchasing and support experience that is external to VoiceMap.

Much more fun than expected!
More fun than you would ever expect! I thought it would be a laugh initially, but it turns out that it was fun, informative, and took us to places we would have never gone. We learned about the history of the region and stopped by some funeral places. The town of Piont Reyes was so charming, and we were there on a day when there was a farmers market. Recommendation: build in time to stop and explore!

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Rosa.
How much does Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $9 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Rosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Rosa is not rushed.
Is Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Rosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Rosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Rosa and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cow Heaven: An Agricultural Self-Guided Driving Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Rosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santa Rosa?
+
Santa Rosa is the practical base for Sonoma County: winery tours through Russian River and Dry Creek, hot air balloon flights over the valley, and redwood trips to Armstrong Grove. On Outty we rank every Santa Rosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best E-Bike Rental! Wine country fun, Sonoma County Join-In Group Wine Tasting Tours, Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santa Rosa?
+
April to June and September to October, with harvest in September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santa Rosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
