Great kayak trip on Jenner Coast!!
We were headed up to the Russian River area and wasn't sure what we would do given that it was the off season. Not to worry - Getaway Adventures provided such a wonderful and tailored kayaking trip for our family of four. We spent our time in the Bay in front of Jenner and our lovely guide Ben was chock full of info both about the flora and fauna as well as Jenner history. We were so pleased with the trip and Getaway made it really easy - thank you!

Great Day Kayaking!
We have a beautiful day yesterday kayaking near Jenner! The weather was gorgeous, Randy was a great guide, and we had a wonderful lunch! Randy pointed out lots of wildlife, historical features add natural landmarks. His knowledge of the area was evident and he was very accommodating to what we wanted to do..We can't wait to do the bike wine tour!
Response from the operator: I'm so glad you had a great time! Thanks so much for touring with us!

So much fun!
Cat was an amazing guide! She was very knowledgeable about the Russian River, the history of Jenner, and the lunch she prepared was absolutely AMAZING. She puts a lot of thought and detail into her excursion trips and it definitely shows. She knew a lot about the wildlife around the river as well. This is something that I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a fun California adventure!

Far Exceeded Expectations
After looking at a number of different kayaking options - most of which only offered self-guided tours - I opted for Getaway Adventures as they offered a guided tour of the Russian River in Jenner, up to the Pacific, which I thought would be the most scenic of the options in the Sonoma/Napa area. I was correct on that front, but what far exceeded my expectations was our absolutely phenomenal guide, Cat. Not only did we have the most gorgeous and fun day on the water, but Cat really went out of her way to point out the birds and animals in the area, as well as interesting bits about the towns, river, ocean, and general area. She was happy for us to look and wander as we liked and would not let us help with anything at all, even over our protests. The lunch she provided next to the water was absolutely phenomenal - multiple types of gorgeous cheeses, breads, fruits, pastries, meats and cheeses, and a wonderful salad. We have lived and traveled all over the world at a high level, and Cat was up there with any guide we have ever had anywhere. I would - and will - recommend her to everyone I know coming to this area. In the couple of weeks we will be spending in the Napa/Sonoma area, even amongst many outstanding wineries and other experiences, this will probably be the highlight of our trip.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Rosa.
How much does Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast cost?
+
Prices start at $250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Rosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Rosa is not rushed.
Is Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Rosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Rosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Rosa and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Guided Kayak Tour on Jenner Coast start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Rosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santa Rosa?
+
Santa Rosa is the practical base for Sonoma County: winery tours through Russian River and Dry Creek, hot air balloon flights over the valley, and redwood trips to Armstrong Grove. On Outty we rank every Santa Rosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best E-Bike Rental! Wine country fun, Sonoma County Join-In Group Wine Tasting Tours, Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santa Rosa?
+
April to June and September to October, with harvest in September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santa Rosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
