    25th Anniversary Road Trip

We had a great time kayaking the Russian River. Erik is very knowledgeable about the history of the area, the wildlife and kayaking. My husband and I were on a road trip to Napa Valley for our 25th anniversary and we like to find fun activities to do when we travel. It was a small group, us and four other people. I could tell they enjoyed their experience too. They also commented on how much they enjoyed the history lesson along with the kayaking experience. We even had a cute seal that poked its head out of the water observing us. There were some pelicans and some other birds too. We didn’t take our phones with us, but Erik took pictures of us all and shared them with us. Since we’ve been home, we have reflected on how much we enjoyed our road trip. Jenner is a cute small coastal town. There’s a coffee shop with claim chowder and other options that looked good too. The vibe of the area is very chill. We have much respect for the people of the area and their commitment to preservation. I would definitely recommend this experience to others. It made our trip very memorable. Erik does a great job and I can’t think of anything else that would have made it better. Maybe if one eyed Willie sailed by and shared some gold. Thanks again for the great experience. We hope to do it again someday.

    Great kayaking tour

This was a great experience! We were in the Napa area to celebrate our anniversary and chose this kayaking tour in addition to the wine tastings we’d already planned. Eric & Tim (our guides) were exceptional. We were a group of 8 (4 couples). The length of the tour (2.5 hrs appx) was the perfect amount of time to go up and down the Russian River and see all the wildlife that this area provides. Eric was so knowledgeable about not just the wildlife but the area in general that it made it as much informative as it was physical. He also made it a point to interact with everyone (all strangers) on whatever topic we had in common. He took pictures of everyone thru out the tour then made those photos available to us afterwards at no charge. We’ve been on enough paid tours to know most places will charge outrageous amounts for any pics taken during such adventures. Eric even gave recommendations for places to eat and hike during our vacation. I can’t say enough good things about Eric and this kayaking experience except book it…you won’t regret it!

    Great experience!

Erik & Tim were great! Very warm and welcoming and great knowledge of the area when it comes to history, animals, and plants/trees! I would go on any tour they lead. Thank you again for such a great experience and keeping us and the animals safe.

Response from the operator: Thank you thank you thank you!!! It was an absolute pleasure to be able to share some paddling time with you. Your words are exactly why we love to do what we do. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review!

Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Rosa.

How much does Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Rosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Rosa is not rushed.

Is Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 145 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Santa Rosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast?

    +

Around 51 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Rosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Rosa and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Rosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santa Rosa?

    +

Santa Rosa is the practical base for Sonoma County: winery tours through Russian River and Dry Creek, hot air balloon flights over the valley, and redwood trips to Armstrong Grove. On Outty we rank every Santa Rosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best E-Bike Rental! Wine country fun, Sonoma County Join-In Group Wine Tasting Tours, Santa Rosa North Sonoma County Small Group Winery Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santa Rosa?

    +

April to June and September to October, with harvest in September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santa Rosa?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
