Amazing experience!
Simona and Carolina were so warm and welcoming! My daughter and I learned 3 recipes and they tasted great! I would highly recommend this pair for a cooking class in Como!

A wonderful addition to Lake Como
We had a wonderful time with Sara and the food was really delicious. Learned a lot. Everything was fresh (she grows all of her own herbs!) and she took all of our food allergies into account. It was one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend this to anyone going to Lake Como.

Basic pasta making class
This is a 100% private experience, so this was for 2 of us. Husband and wife team, very nice home, beautiful drive to the property. They graciously picked us up and we had a nice time. BUT… for the price of this experience we expected things to be quite different. We made very basic tortellini and tiramisu and then ate together. For us- we would have preferred a few more people, more wine than offered or at least a choice of white or red, especially upon arrival and a much more sophisticated menu and maybe a little protein and bread. This is crazy expensive for this experience, we expected so much more.
Response from the operator: Dear Kimberly, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the warm welcome from your hosts, their beautiful home, the scenic drive to the property and the time spent together. We would, however, like to clarify that this experience is designed as a private, hands-on cooking class for the participants, rather than as a traditional dinner or a restaurant-style meal. The menu and format are intentionally focused on learning how to prepare authentic Italian recipes together, in this case fresh tortellini and tiramisu, followed by enjoying the dishes prepared during the class. As the experience was booked privately for two people, the intimate setting and the opportunity to spend time directly with the hosts are an important part of what makes the experience special. Regarding the wine, the selection is made by the host based on the menu being prepared, in order to offer a pairing that complements the dishes. We’re sorry that the experience did not correspond to the type of menu and dining experience you personally had in mind. We nevertheless appreciate your feedback and hope you can understand that the class is intended to offer an authentic and personal Italian cooking experience, rather than a sophisticated multi-course meal. Thank you again for joining us and for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Cooking like a Local
Carolina and Simona were excellent hosts. They picked us up and transported us to their home. This was a great hands on experience making the pasta from scratch to rolling, filling and cutting the ravioli. The proof was in the eating of our own, home made ravioli. Simply awesome. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to do something out of the ordinary.

Why this scores 85
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Como.
How much does Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes cost?
+
Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Como usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Como is not rushed.
Is Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 211 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lake Como, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes?
+
Around 74 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Como can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Como and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cook Like a Local in Como: Hands-On Class 3 Traditional Recipes start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Como within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lake Como?
+
On Outty we rank every Lake Como experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Lake Como & Lugano: 2 Countries in 1 Day, Boat Cruise, Como, Bellagio & Varenna: Small Group from Milan with Boat Cruise, Small-Group Lake Como: Bellagio, Varenna, Hidden Gorge & Boat. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Como?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Como?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
