About this experience
If there is any adventure that we love more than biking in the Columbia River Gorge, we would be hard-pressed to identify it. The cycling here is world-renowned and it's no accident it's one of less than a dozen places in the world to have a Peloton-guided scenic ride created around it. We get to do that in real life! We will ride between 35 and 60 miles (60 - 100 km) depending on your interests and the group, with lots of up and down hills, although all at gentle slopes and lower elevations (nothing over 900 feet / 300 meters). The adventure here is a challenge but not an unsurmountable one; from one end of the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway to another, or an out-and-back ride from a stunning viewpoint, along a scenic highway, then onto a protected bike/pedestrian pathway. Either way, we will ride some of the country's most beautiful roads and visit beautiful waterfalls like Multnomah and Horsetail Falls. Lunch will be on your own with our recommendations

Fun Columbia Gorge Bike Ride!
We had a wonderful half day bike ride. It was the perfect amount of biking and hiking. Angela and Sara were super welcoming and accommodating. They took their time to fit us for our bikes and gave us biking tips before we headed out. On the van ride they talked about the mountains and rivers. During the tour they checked in on us to make sure we were doing well and offered water and snacks. They gave us about 30 minutes at the end to enjoy Multnomah Falls, none of it felt rushed. They also seemed to be enjoying themselves so that was nice. Highly recommend!

Waterfall filled ride!
This was great!! The guides were highly knowledgeable about the area, dropping in many Twilight references along the way as well. The route was customized to our ability levels and we stopped in a great restaurant for lunch! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get a good workout in and in such a beautiful location! We saw at least 6 waterfalls (i lost count), America’s best rest stop, sheep, pigs, and great river views! There were also options to stop and do short hikes to viewpoints along the way. You can tell the guides really care about your experience and make sure you get what you want out of it!

Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portland.
How much does Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride cost?
+
Prices start at $190 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portland is not rushed.
Is Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Portland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portland and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Columbia Gorge Scenic Bikeway full day ride start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Portland?
+
Portland's activity list is food cart and brewery crawls, Columbia River Gorge waterfall tours to Multnomah Falls, Mount Hood day trips and Willamette Valley pinot tastings. Gorge tours vary in how many falls they reach, so route detail is the deciding factor. On Outty we rank every Portland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Guided Oregon Coast Tour from Portland, Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Half-Day Hiking Tour, Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and Mt. Hood Tour - Full Day. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Portland?
+
June to October for the Gorge, with waterfalls at their fullest in spring. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Portland?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
