Rome in a day
We had a fantastic day in Rome thanks to Anna C who gave us valuable information with a lovely honest tour guide on the coach from port, she was helpful, definitely a credit to the big bus company.
Response from the operator: Hello Jennie B, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback.

Bus good, but ALERTA end surprise tour
The buses are comfortable and practical, being in theory great for families, but our experience was ruined by serious failures of the company. By buying the ticket near midnight, the system made a mistake and charged a more expensive fare. Only after the purchase we discovered that 3 of the 8 stops were inactive, no alternative routes. In the stands, the sales approach of the team is excessive and tiring, even with those who already have entry and are in line. In addition, the check of tickets is very flawed (made quickly only at Termini), opening a gap for malicious people to use the transportation for free. There's no guide, just a headset with repeat engravings. The worst episode, however, happened at the end of the day: I took the bus in the middle of the journey and when we arrived at Termini at 19:05 we were all forced to land, without any prior warning that the service would end there, contrary to the informatives that show buses passing after 19:30, even more considering that it is summer time in Rome. To make the situation worse, the staff were extremely poorly educated, shouted to the passengers that they were perplexed and told us to take public transport. A total lack of respect and preparation that completely destroyed our walk.
Response from the operator: Hi, we regret to hear that you had this experience with us.

Tour guide was fantastic
We booked this tour as we were on a Royal Carribean cruise, we were picked up at the port and driven to Rome where we switched to a Bug Bus tour, the tour itself was fine bus was on time, clean and good driver. Rome itself was cray busy so we only stayed on for 2 stops then decided to walk around Rome as it was quicker and easier. We were picked up from the collection point on time and returned to the ship on time. I must make a mention of our wonderful guide Alessia, she was fun and very knowledgable, but above all was so kind and helpful to my son who, unfortunately got heatstroke in the 35 degree heat of Rome, she got him water, organised for us to sit at the front of the coach and told us we could stop if we needed to (he had been being sick for most of the afternoon) we did manage to get him back to the ship without further incident, she allerted her company who in turn alerted the ship and offered medial assistance. Being ill is a foreign coutry is not something I reccomed, but Allessia made it so much easier for us to get him back to the ship and get him help. I cannot praise her enough, so, Allessia Thank you wonderful lady XXXX
Response from the operator: Lesley C, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Big Bus Tours Rome.

Why this scores 50
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Bracciano.
How much does Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer cost?
+
Prices start at $66 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Bracciano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer take?
+
Plan for about 1.7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Bracciano is not rushed.
Is Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lake Bracciano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Bracciano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Bracciano and add a light layer if any part of the 1.7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Civitavecchia Port Rome Hop-On Hop-Off Bus with Transfer start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Bracciano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lake Bracciano?
+
On Outty we rank every Lake Bracciano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Private Tour, Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia, VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Bracciano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Bracciano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
