A Perfect Morning in Civitavecchia
This was a perfectly curated experience. Small group touring some of the guide’s favourite spots for authentic tasty treats. Do not eat before you go. Laura our guide was personable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Couldn’t recommend this tour more. It was a much better way to see a bit of Civitavecchia than a large group tour. Thanks Laura!

Good food!
The food tastings were delicious! Don’t eat before you go. Silvia was great. The description does not match the places we went to but nonetheless the food was good. A lot of walking & there really wasn’t a lot of historical sites. Recommend doing it in the morning for breakfast/lunch, then spending the rest of your day on your own.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with DriverinRome Tours and Transportation! We’re delighted to hear that the food tastings were delicious and that Silvia made the tour enjoyable. While the itinerary differed from the description, we’re glad you still discovered wonderful flavors and appreciated her guidance. Your tip about doing the tour in the morning for breakfast and lunch is very helpful, and we truly appreciate your recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you again for more memorable experiences in Rome!

Good food, you can probably buy it yourself though
The website hasn't been updated to what the tour is now. We were told the wrong meeting point, and when we inquired because it was time and no one was there, we were told the wrong meeting point again. At 10 minutes past meeting time someone called and told us we were supposed to be at the fire station. Not sure why they didn't just say that in first place. The guide was nice, she explained some history, we had a nice breakfast, then tried a slice of delicious pizza from the pedestrian area, then walked down to a wine shop for a glass of spritz and plate of cold cuts and cheeses. We then walked to a gelato shop a few blocks away for a cup of gelato. The guide took a photo of the website description of the tour so she could look into getting it updated

Focus was on food,...
Focus was on food, commentary and I info on the town very limited. Food was good but did not match the tour description. Overall the tour was disorganized and venues did not seem prepared to handle our group.

Civitavecchia tasting would you recommend the tasting tour a friend now it’s a bit Devara
The guide does not carry a microphone because she is not allowed to, so it is not easy to hear points about the city. Sylvia was lovely, but it was difficult to learn anything about the city unless you were right next to her. The food was good and it was not a bad way to pass a few hours in Port city if you were not going into Rome
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with DriverinRome Tours and Transportation! We’re glad to hear that Sylvia was lovely and that you enjoyed the food and time spent in the port city. We appreciate your feedback regarding the difficulty in hearing the guide without a microphone, as regulations can sometimes limit their use. Your comments help us improve, and we’re happy to know the tour was still a pleasant way to spend a few hours. We look forward to welcoming you again, whether in Rome or beyond!

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Bracciano.
How much does Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Bracciano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Bracciano is not rushed.
Is Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lake Bracciano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling?
+
Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Bracciano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Bracciano and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Civitavecchia Cultural Walk & Food Sampling start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Bracciano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lake Bracciano?
+
On Outty we rank every Lake Bracciano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Private Tour, Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia, VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Bracciano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Bracciano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
