Incredible visit to chichen Itza
We took a private tour to chichen itza with JC and Eduardo( Eddie). The van was clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. They had snacks and cold water for us. Jc is a fast but safe driver. We were one of the first to arrive at chichen so it wasn’t too crowded. As we were leaving, we could see it would be much hotter and busier later in the day. Eddie provided the tour of the sacred site with many fascinating details on Mayan culture, the art and history of the place. After the chichen itza we visited a cenote which included lunch on site. It’s a long day with a lot of time in the car, so be prepared for this time commitment. We departed at 7:15 and returned around 5. We were privileged to get this opportunity to see chichen itza. It is a very special place. Mucho gracias, JC and Eddie.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience! We’re delighted to hear that your private tour to Chichén Itzá with JC and Eddie was comfortable, well-organized, and enriching. Starting early really makes a difference, and we’re glad you could enjoy the site before the crowds and heat. It’s wonderful that Eddie’s knowledge brought the history and culture to life, and that you enjoyed the cenote and lunch as well. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure!

Paradise Adventure Tours is far more interested in profiting by channeling their groups to vendors than the sites.
Avoid. The tour vendor is more interested in their personal gain by exposing their tour groups to carefully selected vendors rather than the advertised sites. They exploit their customers by exposing them to nonstop sales pitches and extended stops through their carefully selected businesses for their personal gain. Instead of going straight to Chichén Itzá we were diverted to a 2 hour road stop at one of their carefully selected vendors. We were exposed to sales presentations under the guise of ‘cultural traditions’ and then rushed through a horrible buffet lunch. We we finally arrived at the cenote, it was already getting dark and we were limited to 1 hour. When we finally arrived at the historical town of Valladolid is was totally dark and we were permitted only 25 minutes to use restrooms and get something to eat for dinner. Lastly the Plus package is a total insult. For the Continental breakfast, you get a paper sack with a stale white bread sandwich it a single slice of ham and cheese. For drinks, you get a 6 oz plastic cup of Tecante Light beer. A total waste of day and money.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your words!! Just to let you know, we don't earn a penny for the extras the guests purchase after they have booked our tours. Did you see our logo or uniform at the "nonstop sales pitches and extended stops through their carefully selected businesses"? The answer is: No!! The activities' order could be different, according to the Tour's Operation, at the end of the day, you have visited one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, you have visited the beautiful town of Valladolid, and you have swum in the Crystal Clear Cenote waters. Next time, you could book a Private Tour (25 times more the money approximately you have paid for this one, totally worthy!!), in order to control the activities' order and length. We will be glad to organize it for you!!

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chichen Itza Plus: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Chichen Itza Plus cost?
+
Prices start at $139 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chichen Itza Plus take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Chichen Itza Plus worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chichen Itza Plus?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chichen Itza Plus suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chichen Itza Plus?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chichen Itza Plus start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
