Learn an amazing craft from amazing artists

I have nothing but praise for Zoey Filigree! I signed up for a Chanhua workshop and after under 2 hours I made the most beautiful spring flower hairpin. What you can expect: You’ll be in Zoey’s jewelry workshop, which is filled with jewelry, materials, music, and laughter. Zoey herself teaches some classes, while others on her team teach others. You’ll be in a small group - no 20+ attendees to fight for attention with. You’ll get an introduction to this history of your selected method, and then be guided through. What I loved: First of all, I am an idiot and showed up at 4pm not 2pm (14:00). Despite this, all of the women working there were so incredibly accommodating and kind. I felt absolutely awful but they told me it was fine, made me comfortable, and let me do my workshop anyway! (Please don’t do what I did though! Please show up on time!) I got seated and Sherry poured me a lovely cup of special tea before going into the history of Chanhua. She then let me pick what flower I wanted to make (tip: pick something easy and simple. It’s harder than it looks and takes longer than you think). She helped me get started and answered all my questions. With every successful petal, we cheered together. With every minor flaw, she convinced me I’d do even better the next time. It requires a lot of focus, so most of the time I was sat silently working on the petals. But she sat next to me and chatted with the others laughing and singing which made me feel really welcome and cozy. Sherry also helped me with the really tricky bits, which I’m thankful for. At the end, I came away with a beautiful little hair pin and an appreciation for this historic art. Note: you shouldn’t expect to go home with a huge flower piece or anything. The workshop is two hours, and it really does take a lot of time. I just barely made 6 petals, and I’m quite used to making things by hand. My flower is beautiful. I just don’t want anyone to think they’ll leave with a huge camellia or something after two hours. Come to learn the method, make something small, and perfect it over time! A few more notes: Sherry was delightful. I am so lucky that I was allowed to stay and work with her. She’s been doing chanhua for six years! If you visit please say hi to her! Zoey seems to have gathered a community of creative and passionate women in her shop, and there’s a lot you can learn from them. They have so many courses, I cannot wait to take another. These are the kind of things you’d pay hundreds for at an art college! Zoey is also an incredible artist - her jewelry is amazing and must be seen in person. You may have seen reviews mentioning a bird. Yes! Walnut (English name) is a gorgeous little friend who will very, very happily join you and help/distract you from your task. He really enjoyed hanging out on my shoulder and playing with my glasses/necklace/hair. Eventually I told him he needed to move, so we relocated him to the table where he decided to sit in my lap. Don’t like birds? Don’t worry, you don’t need to hang out with him. But for me it was a bonus. Huge thanks to Zoey, Sherry, and everyone else at Zoey Filigree for making such a wonderful space. I’ll be back!

ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop cost?

    +

Prices start at $58 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does ChanHua(Wreath flower) Workshop start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

    +

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour, Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

    +

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
