Thank you Arturo!
If you’re considering this tour, book it. It was the absolute highlight of our entire trip and well worth the money. Our tour was almost completely private as well, we went early and no one else from other tours were around until later in the morning! Arturo was an exceptional guide. He struck the perfect balance of being knowledgeable, interesting, and incredibly easygoing. From the moment we met him, he created such a relaxed atmosphere that we could simply enjoy the experience without ever feeling rushed or overwhelmed. He shared fascinating information about the cenotes, local history, geology, and wildlife in a way that was engaging and conversational rather than scripted. What stood out most was his kindness. He was patient with every question, attentive to us without being overbearing, and genuinely seemed to care that we had an unforgettable day. You can tell he loves what he does, and that passion comes through in every part of the tour. The cenotes themselves were absolutely breathtaking. Arturo is what elevated the experience from “beautiful” to truly memorable. We’ve done plenty of tours while traveling, and this was one of the best guided experiences we’ve ever had. If management is reading this: Arturo is a tremendous asset to your team. He represents your company incredibly well, and we sincerely hope he’s recognized for the outstanding experience he provides. He absolutely deserves it. Thank you, Arturo, for making our favorite day in Mexico one we’ll be talking about for years.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review of your Cenote Dos Ojos private tour. We're delighted it became the highlight of your trip and that the cenotes, local history, geology and easygoing pace made the day so memorable. Your kind words mean a lot to our team, and we'll be very happy to share them internally.

An Unforgettable Day Exploring Mayan Culture and Canotes
Highlight to our holiday! We had an absolutely fantastic day with Adventure Mexico and would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience more than just the resort life. Our day began with an early hotel pickup at 6:30am, and from the start everything was seamless. We were provided with water and soft drinks throughout the day, which was incredibly appreciated in the Mexican heat. Our first stop was the archaeological site of Tulum, where we learned about the fascinating history and culture of the Mayan people. Our guide, Arturo, was outstanding—professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. His passion for Mexican history, Mayan culture, cenotes, and the local area really brought everything to life. We learned so much and found every part of the tour engaging and interesting. The cenotes were absolutely breathtaking. Arturo shared fascinating facts about the caves and their history, making the experience even more special. The scenery throughout the day was simply jaw-dropping. One of the highlights was lunch at a family-owned Mayan restaurant. It was such a unique and authentic experience. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the food was delicious. I enjoyed a traditional beef stew, while my husband Jon had tacos—both were absolutely amazing. As a wildlife lover, I was also thrilled to spot pelicans, an osprey, vultures, motmots, and several other beautiful birds throughout the day. By the end of the tour, we felt completely relaxed, refreshed, and connected to the incredible culture and natural beauty of Mexico. Enrique, our driver, was excellent and got us safely back to our hotel by mid-afternoon. This tour was thoughtfully organised, educational, relaxing, and packed with unforgettable sights. Arturo was considerate throughout the day, often stopping to talk in shaded areas to help us stay comfortable in the heat. A perfect 10/10 experience and worth every penny. If you’re looking to get out of your hotel, learn about Mexico’s rich history and culture, and experience some truly spectacular scenery, this is the tour for you!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review of your Cenote Dos Ojos private tour. We’re thrilled to hear it was a highlight of your holiday and that you had such a fantastic day exploring cenotes and Mayan culture with our team.

Best trip and company to book with!
We booked a trip to the dos ojos cenote and didn't know what to expect. From the moment we were picked up we when it was going to be a good time. Eddy was our tour guide and made the whole trip better than it could have ever been. He was informative, funny and hospitable beyond what his job requires. Yosmar was a great driver and made sure to get us there and back safely. Next time we are here in Mexico we will only book with absolute adventures and we want to personally request Eddy and Yosmar. Thank you both!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review of your Cenote Dos Ojos private tour. We’re delighted to hear the day was even better than expected and that you enjoyed the cenote, the snorkeling and the full experience with our team. We hope to welcome you again soon!

Great day in Tulum Cenotes
Wonderful experience. Pickup was prompt, driver and guider were professional and friendly. Eddie, our guide, couldn’t have been more helpful and affable. Even the 90 minute commute flew by as we chatted with Eddie and learned about the area. The cenotes were super fun and a perfect way to spend the day with family. We all felt a real connection to our guide and would recommend him and this company without reservation. Thanks Eddie!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the recommendation! We're happy to hear you had such an amazing time with us. You'll have to come back again sometime soon for another adventure.

Incompetence or Rip off attempt?
We tried to book the Dos Ojos cenote tour for two and the tour operator would only accept a reservation for 4. A tour operator should be able to coordinate a reservation with another couple to get the 4 guests for their van. I've never heard of such a thing!
Response from the operator: Hello Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. For clarity, this tour is clearly listed on Viator with a minimum of 4 participants, which is shown before booking. The tour is operated as a private experience, and pricing is calculated based on the minimum number required to cover vehicle, commissions, guide, fuel, entrance fees, and logistics. Running this tour for only two guests in a 16-seat vehicle is unfortunately not viable. You chose to book the tour for four participants. After the booking was confirmed, you contacted us requesting to change the reservation to two participants. As explained at that time, this was not possible due to the stated minimum requirement. We offered two options: • A full refund, or • Keeping the reservation as booked for four participants We understand that this situation may be disappointing. However, the conditions were clearly stated at the time of booking, and we always strive to be transparent and fair with our pricing. With over 2,000 five-star reviews, we take pride in providing honest, high-quality private tours and clear communication. We wish you all the best in your future travels. Kind regards, Absolute Adventure

Is Cenote Dos Ojos Private Tour – Snorkeling & Mayan Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 130 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Cenote Dos Ojos Private Tour – Snorkeling & Mayan Lunch?
+
Around 46 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cenote Dos Ojos Private Tour – Snorkeling & Mayan Lunch start and how do I get there?
+

What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
