We saw whales surfacing fairly close

Last minute reservation due to cruise line changing ports. Only 3 customers on board a nice boat that could have held 10. It was not a 'trimaran' pontoon boat as shown in pictures - much nicer than smaller 'tourist' boats we saw. The marina was at a different location from where our cruise ship tendered, so we used their pickup shuttle which was convenient. We joined a group of ships following 2 adults and 1 juvenile surfacing for air every 5 minutes. Our driver was very respectful by not crowding too close to the whales. February 28th was near the end of the migration - earlier in the year/month might have been a bit better. Unfortunately, we didn't see any 'breaching' activity. At the end of the trip, the boat captain offered to drop us off at a beach a 5-minute walk from where we tendered. He stopped in knee-deep water for us to walk to the beach. We got to enjoy the beach for an hour, and not pay for a shuttle/taxi back to the cruise port.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! 🐋🌊 We’re glad you enjoyed a more private tour and got to see whales up close, always a special moment! 🙌 We’re also happy our team made everything easy with the shuttle and beach drop-off 🏝️ Hope to welcome you back for even more whale action next time! 😊

    Wonderful Whale Watching experience!

My daughter and I went Whale watching with Benjamin on their pontoon boat today. He was the best captain and we had a wonderful time. He was so informative and we saw a a lot of whales. Everyone that worked there was so wonderful. I did not want to get on one of those little boats and have to wear an orange life jacket. This was a really comfortable boat, we were protected from the sun and the staff was amazing! Thank you all!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! 🐋✨ We’re thrilled to hear that you and your daughter had such a wonderful whale watching experience with Benjamin. He’ll be very happy to know he made your day so special! It’s great that you enjoyed the comfort of the pontoon boat and felt relaxed and protected throughout the tour—that’s exactly what we aim for 😊 And of course, seeing so many whales makes it even more magical! We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you both back for another unforgettable adventure in Cabo soon! 🌊💙

Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cabo San Lucas.

How much does Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran cost?

    +

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cabo San Lucas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cabo San Lucas is not rushed.

Is Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 48 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cabo San Lucas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran?

    +

Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cabo San Lucas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cabo San Lucas and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise on a Luxury Trimaran start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cabo San Lucas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cabo San Lucas?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cabo San Lucas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cabo Desert Off-Road & Beach Horseback Combo and Tequila Tasting, Humpback Whale Watching Tour in Cabo San Lucas, Cabo All-Inclusive Private Beach Club with Open Bar and Buffet. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cabo San Lucas?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cabo San Lucas?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
