Our Lady of the Rock is beautiful island made by people who used to live in Perast. The story says that two fishermen from Perast have found Our Lady Icon on the rock sticking out from the sea. People promised they will make island and church dedicated to Our Lady of the Rocks. And here it is, glorious church with museum on the small island. Our travelers will have opportunity to visit both church and museum.

Perast
Baroque Perast is a must visit place in the Bay of Kotor. The UNESCO protected town with its magnificent Venetian Gothic waterfront buildings has a turbulent past. During the period when the interior of the Boka Bay was ruled by the Venetian Republic, and the outside belonged to the Ottoman Empire, Perast had a remarkable strategic significance. In that period Perast was very rich and almost all impressive buildings were built before the 19th century, in Baroque style, which gives it a special significance. After the fall of the Venetian Republic and the Napoleonic Wars, Perast become under the Austro-Hungarian administration. Perast loses the defensive role, privileges and economic power and begins its 200 years long dying period. Although Perast had only 350 inhabitants, there were 18 churches and 19 palaces in it. The symbol of the city is the church of Saint Nicholas with its impressive 55 meter high bell tower, proudly above the building. Unfortunately, because of the lack of money, it was never finished.

The narrowest part of the bay - Verige is about 300m wide. Verige divides the interior from the outer gulfs. On the left side of the Verige is the church Church of Our Lady of Angels. Although behind the door are written years 1654 and 1685, it is believed that the church is built earlier, and those years are years of big renovation. In 1585. citizens of Perast have built up the walls with loopholes around the church, making this place strategically important fortress for the defense of their town. The church was destroyed in 1654 during an attack on the Turks in Perast, but was restored in the same year. From this spot, if necessary, people have raised and stretched "verige", iron chains, to block the entrance to the inner bay of Boke. Because of this, name for this narrow is Verige - meaning chains

Chill and beautiful
I really enjoyed the tour! The views on the way to the cave were wonderful. The cave itself was beautiful and the water was crystal clear and perfect for swimming. We also stopped in Perast which was absolutely lovely

Excellent speed boat tour to see the Blue Caves, submarine tunnel and Our Lady of the Rocks - would
Our family did the three hour tour which visited the Blue Caves, the submarine tunnel and Our Lady of the Rocks. We opted for the 9am and were picked up from near our apartment in Muo. Would recommend visiting the caves at this time - there were not too many boats in the cave so we were able to swim inside the cave which was a bonus. The water is so clear and blue! Excellent captain and his assistant were excellent and provided us with some interesting historical facts about the sites of interest. Would definitely recommend this tour and this tour provider. Thank you for an excellent trip!!

Isador was so gentle with my 90 year old wife and gracious to my two active grandkids age 21 and 18. He made the trip so fun. Swimming at his “secret” beach was a highlight for the young ones. He has an amazing playlist of music which he shared with us and the kids shared theirs with him.Grampa turned him on to American country. What a blast being in the middle of the Med blasting Till You Can’t by Cody Johnson full blast. Thanks Isador for a lifetime memory. SEA HRIZON rocks.

Thanks to Lily and her team, I experienced the surprise of Kotor
I found a few on the street at that time, because I was a single person and not a team, so there was no room for haggling, so I looked at the service when the prices were the same. And I am a backpacker, I arrived in Kotor this afternoon, and some shipping companies no longer accept me, but Lily's ships are enough, so I can book it directly. In addition, she has a dedicated office where you can change your swimsuit and store your luggage until the evening! She didn't push me to book directly, and English is the best among several shipping companies, so there is no barrier in communication. But I didn't expect her boat to have such a good atmosphere, and the captain is also very cute.😆This is the surprise that Kotor gave me!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kotor.
How much does Blue Cave & Our Lady of the Rocks 3 hr private tour(up to 12 pax) cost?
+
Prices start at $497 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kotor usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Blue Cave & Our Lady of the Rocks 3 hr private tour(up to 12 pax) take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kotor is not rushed.
Is Blue Cave & Our Lady of the Rocks 3 hr private tour(up to 12 pax) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kotor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Blue Cave & Our Lady of the Rocks 3 hr private tour(up to 12 pax)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Blue Cave & Our Lady of the Rocks 3 hr private tour(up to 12 pax) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Blue Cave & Our Lady of the Rocks 3 hr private tour(up to 12 pax)?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kotor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kotor and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Kotor?
+
On Outty we rank every Kotor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Great Montenegro Tour-Lovcen NP,Mausoleum Lovcen,River of Crnojevic,Sveti Stefan, Kotor Bay Escape: Blue Cave, Beach & Swimming Time, Exclusive Blue Cave Kotor Swim, Mamula&Lady of the Rock 3 Hour. When is the best time to visit Kotor?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kotor?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
