Don’t book during summer, you might not even get a spot on the boat.

Do not book with this company during the busy summer months, it might cost you your only chance to see the caves etc. We booked well in advance, just to arrive to a whole crowd of people who booked for the same small boat and timeslot (they booked more than 4 times more people than they could accommodate). After long waiting (with unclear communications from the host) surrounded by other (some very agitated, shouting and shoving) tourists, the boat left with only a few people. Most people could not be accommodated, even some who already paid. We left to find another tour, but found out most are already booked out well in advance in the summer. Afterwards I read other similar reviews of this companies’ overbooking, so beware don’t waste your chance to see these beautiful sites like we did.

Needs to be earlier and far less packed

The sunset cruise from Kotor should have been the highlight of the trip. Setting off at 5 pm, we travelled around the bay, taking in Perast, the two islands, hidden submarine tunnel, various interesting accommodation areas and the Blue Cave. Aside from the Blue Cave, we were not able to disassembark. At the Blue Cave itself, people jumped into the sea to swim, although it was too dark by then to appear blue. Quite a bit of rubbish floating. Came back in the complete dark, so maybe this trip would have been better an hour earlier. The guides gave interesting information about the places we visited. However, the fact that the boat was packed meant that we could not move around at all and, as the seats were quite low, and mostly facing inwards, it was actually quite hard to see. Not sure how safe the swimming was as there were far too many people, in the dark, to supervise adequately. As with some other activities, this would be better if they were not trying to pack in huge numbers.

Keep away from this company!

One of the worst experience from Montenegro ever! We booked speedboat for private trip to Blue Cave and to u-boot cave! We did 100€ of downpayment. When we arrived it was total choas!! After 45 minutes of calls and waiting we received old ugly catamaran which wasn’t able to realize any of promised points! What is more - we were charged full payment and informed that it has nothing in common with plan in the middle of Kotor’s Bay. Skipper was ok but as confused as we were! Never again!!! Our recommendation - keep away from that company!

Don’t use Hawaii Boat Tours!

We signed up for the 9 am 3 hour tour. We left and shot straight to the blue cave l, followed by the submarine tunnel. After that we did nothing we were supposed to! There were too many of us on the boat, we didn’t see Perast, Out Lady of the Rock or any of the other sights they suggest. The driver gave no commentary at all either. Very poor. Don’t use these guys.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kotor.

How much does 2026 Private Boat To Blue Cave 3 hours ADVENTURE cost?

Is 2026 Private Boat To Blue Cave 3 hours ADVENTURE worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 150 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kotor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2026 Private Boat To Blue Cave 3 hours ADVENTURE?

How far in advance should I book 2026 Private Boat To Blue Cave 3 hours ADVENTURE?

+

Around 53 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. When is the best time to visit Kotor?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kotor?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
