Great tour of Westminster Abbey!

Our guide was so very knowledgeable and was able to get us into the gardens at Westminster! We offered to forgo Buckingham Palace walk around as we had already toured there. The guide was amazing and it was just the 2 of us on the tour so very personal and professional.

Exceeds Expectations

One of the best tours ever. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her job. We were at bit skeptical about doing a private tour, but realized that it was worth it to get a Blue Badge guide. My only critique is the tour itself. I feel that the outside tour about Buckingham palace should be excluded because it takes away time from being able to take in everything at the abbey. We skipped the part about Buckingham and barely had enough time to make it through both floors of the church as it was. The staff were nice at the church and it was wheelchair accessible, except for the back of the building. The tour had great value for everything that was included. Very thorough!

Response from the operator: It's wonderful to hear the tour exceeded your expectations. We're delighted that your Blue Badge guide's knowledge and enthusiasm made such a strong impression, and that you found the experience to be such great value. Thank you as well for your thoughtful feedback about the itinerary. The Buckingham Palace walking tour is included to provide the wider royal context before visiting Westminster Abbey, but we appreciate that some guests would prefer to spend even longer inside the Abbey itself. We're pleased you were still able to enjoy both levels and found the experience so thorough overall. We hope to welcome you on another LetzGo City Tours experience in the future. Don is the best!

We were the only four on this tour and they didn’t cancel on us. So we had guide Don to ourselves for the time and it was so fantastic. Don was personable and so incredibly knowledgeable. Amazing time for the whole family.

Response from the operator: What a gift to have Don's full attention for your Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace tour—that kind of personalized experience, paired with his deep knowledge and genuine warmth, is exactly what makes LetzGo City Tours special. So glad the whole family got to experience those iconic London landmarks through his eyes. Thank you for choosing us!

Worst experience ever!

I cried, our experience was disastrous...My guy and I were traveling to Amsterdam and Edinburgh. I realized we would be close to London, and Westminster Abbey was on my bucket list. I am 74 years old.. should do this now! We decided to add a side trip to London for a couple days, booked a flight, room, and a top notch visit to the Abby with Tripadvisor/ Viator. My dream was coming true, I was excited. We waited at the location to meet our guide. No one came. We walked to the other side of the building, was told we had the correct locating for our tour and went back to our previous location. No one came. We called to discover the tour was booked for the day before. We had our e-ticket in hand showing we had the correct day and time. They checked the information to find a mistake had taken place. They offered to book us the next day but we were traveling to Edinburgh early the next morning, our room was booked, too late to cancel. They refunded our tour money. I called once home letting them know what happened in anticipation of receiving some form of compensation. Our airflight and hotel was costly. I received an email saying they would give us a 15% discount on our next booking if used in a short period of time. Because of our trip to London it shortened our time in Edinburgh. Adding to the sting! When I think of this fiasco, my heart is heavy.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing this, and we're sorry to hear your visit to Westminster Abbey didn't go as planned. We take meeting arrangements seriously — guests are provided clear meeting point and time details prior to the tour, and our guides are reliably present and ready at the designated location. We're unable to determine from this account alone what led to the mix-up, but we did take the steps available to us at the time, including refunding the tour and offering a further gesture of goodwill for a future booking. We want future readers to know that this tour is consistently rated 5 stars, with guests regularly praising our guides' knowledge, storytelling and warmth in bringing Westminster Abbey's history to life. We understand how disappointing this was given the significance of the trip, and we hope you'll consider giving the experience another chance in the future. Best wishes for your future travels. Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace cost?

+

Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Best of Westminster Abbey with Upper Gallery & Buckingham Palace start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

+

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

+

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
