What sets this experience apart is the combination of intimacy, access, and authenticity. With a maximum of six guests, this is not a crowded tour but a personal, small-group experience where the pace is unhurried and the focus is on enjoying the moment. You’ll cruise on a classic wooden lobster boat, giving you a true sense of Maine’s working waterfront—not a generic sightseeing vessel. The experience is flexible, shaped around your group, the conditions, and what feels right on the day. The highlight is a VIP dockside stop at Young’s Lobster Pound. Arriving by boat, you’ll step ashore away from the crowds, enjoy a live lobster demonstration, and pick up one of their iconic lobster rolls before heading back out onto the water to enjoy it. Great experience, and you...

Great experience, and you can learn all about the Belfast lobster industry/aqua-farming industry, etc. And of course a lobster roll from Youngs Lobster Pound, which is by far the best lobster pound in Maine as far as I am concerned!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Scot! We might have to let the folks at Young’s know they’ve officially been crowned the best lobster pound in Maine! 🦞😊 We’re so glad you enjoyed getting out on Belfast Bay and digging a little deeper into the working waterfront, lobstering and aquaculture that shape this part of Maine. Thanks for coming aboard and sharing such a great review!

Don’t do this boat ride in Belfast.

Terrible, short boat ride to Young’s Lobster. Lobster roll was terrible, on round bun, no flavor, lobster very cold. Boat is very small old lobster boat, seated 6 on a bench. Not worth the money.

Response from the operator: Hi Peter, we’re sorry the experience wasn’t what you were hoping for. Our boat is intentionally small, carrying a maximum of just six guests, and is a traditional Maine lobster boat. That intimate, authentic experience is very much what we offer, and we try to show the boat and seating clearly in our photos and descriptions so guests know what to expect. We’re also sorry the lobster roll from Young’s wasn’t to your taste. Young’s is a much-loved local lobster pound and their lobster rolls are normally a highlight for our guests, but food is of course very personal. We appreciate that this particular experience wasn’t the right fit for you. We’ll also be reaching out to you directly to follow up. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

There's nothing better than a relaxing cruise, good company, and a fresh Maine lobster roll, so we're delighted to hear the experience hit the mark! Thank you for your kind words about our crew. We love sharing the stories and beauty of Belfast Bay, and it's wonderful to know you found the ride comfortable, fun, and laid back. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you back aboard the next time you're visiting the Maine coast. — The Back & Forth Crew

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Camden.

How much does Belfast Bay Cruise with Lobster Rolls Small Group Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Camden usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Belfast Bay Cruise with Lobster Rolls Small Group Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Camden is not rushed.

Is Belfast Bay Cruise with Lobster Rolls Small Group Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Camden, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Belfast Bay Cruise with Lobster Rolls Small Group Experience?

    +

Is Belfast Bay Cruise with Lobster Rolls Small Group Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Belfast Bay Cruise with Lobster Rolls Small Group Experience?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Camden can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Camden and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Camden within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Camden?

    +

Camden, ME packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Camden by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Camden experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Windjammer Classic Sunset Sail from Camden, Maine, Windjammer Classic Day Sail from Camden, Maine, Day Sails and Sunset tours on Schooner Surprise in Camden Maine. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Camden?

    +

Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Camden, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Camden?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
