Brilliant for beginners stuck on auto!

I wasn’t sure what I would be able to learn in 4 hours, but Lou is a great tutor and I was amazed at how much I picked up and feel confident to put into practice. Words such as ISO, aperture and shutter speed are no longer a mystery and my camera manual might actually get read and mean something! Planning to do the night photography one soon! 😊

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our Beginners Photography Course and are now on the way to getting those great photos. We had such a lovely day and it was great to be out and about again after lockdown. We have worked very hard to make our Beginners Course the best, so that all our guests learn very well how to use their digital cameras. Keep up the good work and we look forward to meeting you again on our Night Photography Tour soon. Thank you again for taking the time to review - it is greatly appreciated.

A very comprehensive lesson will definitely book with them again

I’ve never been able to remember the different settings for my camera. Lou made it so easy to remember the difference between shutter speeds, iso, focus etc. It’s all very practical. I was having huge problems with my camera and she took the time to help me sort it all out (it needed to have a factory reset). Every holiday I’ve been on since I’ve been able to use my knowledge from this trip to take some really wonderful pictures. I look forward to doing another course.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback. Glad to hear that our Beginners Photography Course got your photography off to a great start. It was our pleasure to help you with your lovely camera to get the best shots possible every time you use it. Wishing you all the best with your photography.

    Beginners Workshop

The perfect course for me, I’m one of those who have been stuck on ‘auto and scene’ modes for years. This course really showed me what can be achieved with just a little bit of knowledge. Lou took the time and care to explain the basics to everyone in the group without us getting out of our depth. Now I have some clarity of what was previously a confusing range of setting, I’m well on the way to finding my way round the camera and getting better shots as a result.

Response from the operator: Thank you for you fantastic feedback. Really pleased that our teaching moved you immediately away from using Auto and Scene modes. You can now change the way your photos look and achieve outstanding results. Wishing you the very best with your photography.

    A great Beginners Workshop

A thoroughly enjoyable, informative and educational beginner's workshop. Truly hands-on. I learnt so much about the camera and photography basics - much needed. Lou's knowledge of all sorts of cameras is really good! I liked the teaching style and the range of topics covered. Will definitely be booking a followup course later this year. ChrisR

Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review. We are delighted that you enjoyed our Beginners Photography Workshop with Lou and learned many new things about photography and your wonderful camera. It was our pleasure to help you with your camera so that you can get the best from it. We look forward to working with you again in the future on one of our follow up creative courses. Wishing you all the best with your photography.

Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop cost?

    +

Prices start at $225 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Beginners Photography Course - Small Group Workshop start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

    +

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

    +

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
