Best day of 2021
We took a day trip with Nicolas to visit his father's nomad apiary. Lovely experience! fully recommend, if you enjoy nature, bees, exceptional honey and good stories. It was an 8hr drive (both ways)! and we were very comfortable in Nicolas's top-of-the-line van, safe driving, lovely scenary, on time pick-up. Overall a 5 star experience. Also loved the traditional Romanian food included in the tour, best meat I have eaten in years! my only regret is not being able to make mamaliga as good as Mr. Nicolae! Make sure to buy a big bottle of each type of honey! incredible flavour and texture 10/10.

The best choice to explore nature in Romania
We wanted to see how it’s beekeeping in Romania and we’ve found online Nicolas Experience Tours. From the beginning till the end of day trip we had the feeling that we did the best choosing though travel company. Nicolas was great, his parents as well. We understand why bees are so important to humanity and why Romania has one of the best honey in the word. Can’t thank you enough, Nicolas!

Cant wait to go back next year ♥️
If you love nature, bees, organic bio produse, and admirable people that dedicate their life to sustainable businesses, you will LOVE this tour. We booked a day trip to visit the bees with our guide Nicolas, he picked us up on time in a top of the line vehicule, drove safely and made quick stops when needed for bathroom visits. We had a lovely time, he answered all our questions and shared incredible stories about the honey industry, personal bee keeping adventures, and beekeepers in Romania and abroad, plus treated us to some artisanal romanian pretzels that were delicious. The drive from Bucharest to the location where the bees were was mind blowing: views of rivers, mountains, forests and villages. Romania has nothing to envy other countries in regards to natural beauty. After 4hrs we arrived to the bees location. Nicolas's father has been a nomad bee keeper for almost 40 years, spending spring and summer taking the bees to areas of Romania where they can find organic, pesticides free, flowers of all kinds, carefully ensuring the bees are able to produce enough honey for their own needs to grow healthy colonies and survive the winter, plus a surplus that Mr. Nicolas senior gathers to provide people like me and you with honey, bee wax, royal jelly and more. Nothing is wasted. Additionally, they are always available to rescue bees in need and adopt them into their colonies. I spent time with the bees, saw them carry polen back to their hives, learned a bunch of new info, and the biggest gift was to see a queen bee (I admit I cried a little). It was a beautiful experience to see such a loving collaborative relationship between Mr. Nicolas, the bees, nature, and his dogs, that protect him every night from bears craving honey, curious wolves and all wild life. I left inspired, in love and motivated to continue supporting small businesses, buying local, exploring nature, and learning from people like Mr. Nicolas. Do yourself a favor, reach out to Nicolas and book this tour for next spring! they gifted us 2 small jars of honey and we bought 3 big jars of different kinds, and after trying it at home, my husband and I suspect we had never eating pure real honey before, this is what Mana is made of. If you are as lucky as us, Mr. Nicolas will make for you mamaliga and roasted pork (grown and raised by him), served with bio cow cheese made by a friend of his in the mountains, plus a few shots of suica, also made by Mr. Nicolas himself. It was the best meat I have eaten in the past +6 years and the richest licor. Cant wait to go back next year ♥️ see you with the bees!
Response from the operator: Alejandra, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this amazing review, a great description from a great soul! We are so grateful for your kind words! Thanks for sharing your review with us and the community! See you next year for a new experience in Romania! Kind Regards, Nicolas

Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.
How much does Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest cost?
+
Prices start at $114 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.
Is Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Beekeeping Day Trip| Private Guided Tour from Bucharest start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bucharest?
+
On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bucharest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bucharest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
