A fabulous and comprehensive tour of Romania!

My husband and I had an amazing experience on our Best of Romania in 10 Days tour! We discovered so many interesting places, and we learned a lot from our friendly and knowledgeable guide, George. The itinerary and pace was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed visiting each of the destinations and felt we had a very complete orientation to Romania. All of the accommodations were very nice and met or exceeded our expectations, and the breakfasts at each of the hotels were very nice. The transportation provided was clean and very comfortable. We are glad we decided to take this tour, and we highly recommend it to others who want to learn about and experience more than just the cities and tourist destinations in this beautiful country. We are especially grateful to our incredible guide, George, who brought Romania to life for us. Thank you, George!

    Wonderful Romania

This small group tour was a wonderful introduction to Romania and Traian our guide/driver provided a thoughtful insight into life in Romania. We had some memorable dining including tripe soup. Accommodation was very good and dining recommendations provided by Traian were excellent. The painted monasteries were a highlight although photography inside was not allowed. The Transfagarasan highway was still closed so that route was not available to our group and was unlikely to open until well into July. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that the tour offered such a meaningful introduction to Romania and that Traian’s insights, driving, and recommendations added so much to the experience. It is wonderful to know that you enjoyed the accommodation, the memorable local meals, and especially the painted monasteries. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the seasonal closure of the Transfăgărășan Highway. Thank you again for your recommendation. We will be very happy to share your kind feedback with Traian!

Best of Romania in ten days.

We had ten days driving through many beautiful towns and countryside in Romania starting in Bucharest. Our guide Emil had such a wealth of knowledge about the history of Romania, right up to the present day as well as telling us all about the many ancient churches and castles and citadels. Ask Emil a question, he knew the answer! Emil was very easy to talk to and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your ten-day journey through Romania and the many beautiful towns, landscapes, churches, castles, and citadels along the way. We especially appreciate your kind words about Emil. His extensive knowledge, approachable nature, and ability to bring Romania’s history to life are qualities we value greatly. Thank you again for travelling with us. We will be very happy to share your wonderful feedback with Emil!

A Wonderful 10 Day Experience of Romania

Our 10 day tour of Romania was a very seamless experience. This was due to our guide/driver George. From being very knowledgeable in all matters relating to Romanian culture and history to making sure that we were comfortable in the vehicle and made aware of points of interest along the way and of location of services such as shops, restaurants and the like once we had stopped in a town for the night. George was always punctual, courteous and professional. A true gentleman. In relation to Romania we went with no expectations and open minds as to what we might see and experience. We weren't disappointed and loved it all. We would visit again to see those areas that we didn't get to on our 10 day tour and have George as our guide/driver again.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful review! We’re truly happy to hear that your 10-day journey through Romania was such a seamless and enjoyable experience. George will be thrilled to read your words. His knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care for our guests are qualities we deeply appreciate, and we’re glad they made your trip comfortable and memorable. Knowing that you felt well-informed, well-looked-after, and welcomed throughout the tour means a lot to us. It’s fantastic to hear that Romania exceeded your expectations and left you wanting to explore even more. There’s still plenty to discover, and we would be honoured to have you back — with George as your guide and driver once again. Thank you for choosing to travel with us, and we hope to see you again soon!

Best of Romania in 10 Days: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.

How much does Best of Romania in 10 Days cost?

    +

Prices start at $2420 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Best of Romania in 10 Days take?

    +

Plan for about 240 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.

Is Best of Romania in 10 Days worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Best of Romania in 10 Days?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Best of Romania in 10 Days suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 240-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Best of Romania in 10 Days?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 240-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Best of Romania in 10 Days start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bucharest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bucharest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bucharest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
