Dont go with a tour company
Not worth the money going with a tour company Spend more time on the coach then at the location Beautiful sights but more time needed then a quick 30 minutes which we were given Plenty of souvenir shops and cafes Some lovely castles and buildings to look at Would definately recommend making your own way there so time is not an issue and you can get to see everything at your own pace
Response from the operator: Hello, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery, castles and buildings along the way. We’re sorry that you felt the time at the destination was too short. Our tours follow a set itinerary in order to cover the planned highlights within the available time, and we understand that some guests would prefer more time to explore independently. Travelling on your own can certainly offer more flexibility, while a guided tour is designed to provide a convenient and informative experience without having to organise transportation and logistics yourself. We appreciate your comments, as feedback like yours helps us continually review and improve our tours. With best regards, your Salzburg Panorama Tours team

It was a very pleasant...
It was a very pleasant and easy to follow travel guide. They picked us and dropped us off in the main city centre area so it was very convenient. We had lots of leisure time to explore the place and the lake on our own too. The bus was very comfortable and air-conditioned, which was very helpful, especially during peak summer periods. Overall a 10/10 experience!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review and 10/10 rating! We’re delighted to hear that you found the tour easy to follow and convenient from start to finish. It’s wonderful that you had plenty of leisure time to explore the destination and lake at your own pace, and we’re glad the comfortable, air-conditioned bus made your summer journey even more enjoyable. Thank you for travelling with us—we truly appreciate it! Warm regards, Panorama Tours

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salzburg.
How much does Bavarian Mountains including Berchtesgaden from Salzburg cost?

Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salzburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bavarian Mountains including Berchtesgaden from Salzburg take?
+

Is Bavarian Mountains including Berchtesgaden from Salzburg worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 153 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salzburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bavarian Mountains including Berchtesgaden from Salzburg?
+

Is Bavarian Mountains including Berchtesgaden from Salzburg suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bavarian Mountains including Berchtesgaden from Salzburg?
+
Around 54 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salzburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salzburg and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bavarian Mountains including Berchtesgaden from Salzburg start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salzburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Salzburg?
+
On Outty we rank every Salzburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Austrian Apple Strudel Cooking Class including Lunch in Salzburg, Salzburg Oldtown: Sightseeing Walking Tour with Licensed Local Guide, Salzburg: Palace Concert at the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Salzburg?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Salzburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
