A beautiful day!
It was a wonderful experience! Entering a cave by canoe, surrounded by silence and darkness, was amazing — I even felt a bit scared at first, but that made it even more fun. The place is beautiful! After that, we went to Big Rock Falls, where we swam and enjoyed a delicious local meal. All of this was made even better by our guide, Pedro, who was fantastic!! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves adventure, nature, and unforgettable moments!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Duane, for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that your day at Barton Creek Cave and Big Rock Falls was such a memorable one. Canoeing into the cave truly is something special—peaceful, mysterious, and just the right amount of thrill. We’re glad the moment of fear added to the excitement rather than taking away from it! It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, the refreshing swim at Big Rock Falls, and the delicious local meal. And we couldn’t agree more about Pedro—he brings so much passion and fun to every tour, and we’re happy he helped make your day unforgettable. Thank you for the high recommendation. We hope to welcome you back for even more adventure and nature here in Belize!

Cave Canoe/Big Rock Waterfalls tour
Our Guide (Golborn) was amazing. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Belize as well as the Sites we visited. He was very detailed in his description of the places along the way to each site. He EXCEEDED our expectations! Would DEFINITELY book tours with this company.

Awe Inspiring
The Barton Creek Caves are awe inspiring. Canoeing through them was the perfect start to our vacation. Our guide from Cayo Inland Expeditions was excellent and knowledgeable. There were only two of us in the group (me and my husband). We went in one canoe with the guide who expertly navigated us through the caves. We went to Big Rock Falls after Barton Creek Caves. Also spectacular. Lunch was delicious. However, make sure to have shoes/water shoes with a good non-slip sole because the rocks are slippery. Our guide was very careful to show us where to walk. The walk down to the falls is a series steep wooden stairway, so take your time, especially on the way back up! Altogether an excellent day. Highly recommend this tour.

Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Ignacio.
How much does Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $175 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Ignacio usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Ignacio is not rushed.
Is Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Ignacio, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Ignacio can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Ignacio and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Barton Creek Cave Canoeing & Big Rock Falls with sit down lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Ignacio within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Ignacio?
+
On Outty we rank every San Ignacio experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave Tour and Picnic, Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio, Tikal SUNSET, Archeological focus and Wildlife Spotting Tour (South and East). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Ignacio?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Ignacio?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
