We were lucky and were...

We were lucky and were the only ones on our tour! Jose was our tour guide and he was absolutely incredible. He took our interests into consideration to customize the tour for us. He was extremely knowledgeable of all things Belize and it was so fun to spend the day learning so much with him! 12/10 recommend and I would gladly do another tour with Jose any day !

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible 12/10 review! We are so thrilled that you had such a wonderful time with Jose. At St. Leonard's Tours, we truly believe that your vacation time is precious, which is why we love offering customized, private tours in Belize. Whether our guests want to dive deep into the history of the local Mayan ruins, take a relaxed horseback ride through the jungle, or go cave tubing, Jose has a true gift for listening to what you are most excited about and tailoring the day to perfectly match your interests. We love hearing that his passion and deep knowledge of Belizean history and culture made your day both educational and so much fun! Knowing that you felt heard and well taken care of is the highest compliment we could ask for. It was an absolute pleasure to host you here in the San Ignacio area, and we would gladly welcome you back for another customized adventure anytime

Amazing!!!

Jose was our guide and he was awesome. First we did the tour of Zuantunich, and it was amazing. Jose explained the history of the Mayans and the site and knows so much about it, and the plants in the area. Then we did the cave tubing part. It was a beautiful cave, and we got out of our tubes and hiked around a lot in the cave, and we did some jumping not the water. Fabulous. Jose was a great guide; very knowledgeable and fun!! Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: "Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We are so incredibly proud of Jose—he truly has a special gift for making the ancient history of the Maya and the magic of the Belizean jungle come alive. There is something so deeply moving about stepping back in time at Xunantunich and feeling connected to the stories of the people who walked there centuries ago, and we are thrilled Jose was able to share that with you. Taking that leap into the crystal-clear water during the cave tubing portion is always such a thrilling moment of letting go! We designed the St. Leonard's cave tubing experience to be more than just a simple float—we want you to truly explore those breathtaking underground chambers on foot, marvel at the formations, and feel that amazing rush of adventure, all while knowing you are in the safest, most capable hands. Thank you for trusting us with your precious vacation time. We know how much it means to step away from the daily routine and make memories that will last a lifetime, and we are so honoured you chose to spend that time with us. We would absolutely love to welcome you back to Belize for another adventure in the future!"

Edward Made Our Maya Ruins & Cave Tubing Adventure Unforgettable

Our Xunantunich Maya Ruins and cave tubing adventure was one of the absolute highlights of our Belize trip, and that was largely because of our guide, Edward. He was exceptional from the moment we met him. Before we even reached the cave tubing, Edward took us through the Maya ruins, and that experience alone was incredible. He didn’t just walk us through it—he brought it to life. He explained the history, the culture, and the significance of everything in a way that was fun, engaging, and easy to understand. He made learning exciting, especially for the kids. What impressed me most was how he interacted with my children and made them part of the experience. He asked them questions, got them involved, and made them genuinely want to learn instead of just listening. That takes a special kind of guide, and Edward was excellent at it. When we moved on to the cave tubing portion, he continued to make the day seamless and enjoyable. Traveling with kids—especially with my energetic 8-year-old son—can be a challenge, but Edward handled everything perfectly. He created the right balance of fun, adventure, and structure so everyone felt safe, relaxed, and excited. He was kind, patient, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. By the end of the trip, he honestly felt like part of the family. We even ended up spending more time with him afterward because he was just that genuine and enjoyable to be around. Great tours are memorable, but great people make them unforgettable. Edward absolutely made this experience unforgettable. Five stars all the way.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Ignacio.

How much does Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio cost?

+

Prices start at $130 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Ignacio usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio take?

+

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Ignacio is not rushed.

Is Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 267 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in San Ignacio, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio?

+

Around 93 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Ignacio can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Ignacio and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Xunantunich and Cave Tubing Combo Tour from San Ignacio start and how do I get there?

+

What are the best things to do in San Ignacio?

+

On Outty we rank every San Ignacio experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave Tour and Picnic, Tikal SUNSET, Archeological focus and Wildlife Spotting Tour (South and East), Caracol Maya Ruins Tour Including Rio On Pools, Rio Frio Cave and a Picnic Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Ignacio?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Ignacio?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
