About this experience
Spend Sunday like a Londoner and discover a side of the city many visitors never see. I’m Rich — a qualified London guide, East Londoner and son of a market trader — so London’s markets have always been part of my world. We’ll head away from the traditional tourist trail and explore some of my favourite corners of East London, from Broadway Market and Regent’s Canal to Hackney City Farm, Columbia Road Flower Market, Brick Lane and Old Spitalfields Market. Along the way, I’ll share the stories, characters and communities that have shaped this fascinating part of London, with plenty of local insights, great photo opportunities and personal recommendations. There’s also time to experience the markets themselves — browse the stalls, soak up the atmosphere and, of course, try some of the incredible food along the way. Londoner’s tip: skip breakfast. You’ll want to come hungry!

Great tour to local markets
Love this tour with Rich where he led us through four markets with all distinct characters! Such a great way to experience how a local’s life may be in London!

Sunday markets
It was very interesting and informative. Friendly guide who made effort to speak with all of us (28 people) during the tour. Markets great with time to look round on our own good walking shoes needed but not many steps or hills and pace nice and gentle
Response from the operator: So pleased you enjoyed your Sunday exploring the markets! I did have a slightly bigger group than usual that day, so I'm really glad it still felt personal and you enjoyed the relaxed pace and time to explore each market for yourselves. Hopefully I'll see you back in London for another adventure soon! Best, Rich

Response from the operator: So pleased you enjoyed it enough to come back for round two! I love sharing my London with people, so hearing you describe it as a must-do means a lot. Always a pleasure having you along — hopefully there’ll be a third one day! Best, Rich

Honestly earned the 5 stars
Some tour guides make the visit shine! Rich kept a terrific pace, was entertaining, and he chose an excellent selection of markets. He’s naturally curious, as such is an engaging guide. Rich also offered much info and recommendations beyond the tour. I appreciate the tip on best fish and chips.
Response from the operator: I'm so pleased you enjoyed the pace, the markets and all the little extras along the way. I always enjoy sharing recommendations beyond the tour too — and I hope you managed to put that fish & chips tip to good use! It was a real pleasure having you along. Best, Rich

Sunday Fun in the Markets
Rich gave us a completely different perspective on London. It was clear from the start that he knows the food markets inside out and has genuine relationships with many of the local vendors, especially the smaller independent ones. His recommendations, both within the markets and for restaurants around the city, were excellent. What made the tour especially memorable was the personal touch Rich brought to it. By sharing his own stories and experiences as a member of the neighborhood, he made the tour feel authentic, engaging, and much more than just a food walk. Highly recommended.
Response from the operator: What a lovely review — thank you! I'm really pleased you enjoyed seeing a different side of London and getting to know some of the independent traders and characters who make these markets so special. This is very much my part of London, so I love being able to share the stories, places and people I know along the way. It was a real pleasure having you on the tour. Best, Rich

Why this scores 86
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner cost?
+
Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 134 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner?
+
Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Authentic London Sunday Markets with a Londoner start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
