    Moving and memorable visit

Good communication with driver prior to and on the day. Were also offered a picnic lunch if we’d wanted one, although there wasn’t really time to eat any lunch once you’d had to queue for the toilet! There were 7 of us in the minibus, which was a comfortable ride with a driver and tour guide and on the tour there were 30 of us with headpieces to hear the guide. It’s a very busy place with lots of groups circumnavigating each other so you were rushed through a bit and didn’t have time to read notice boards or for the guide to be flexible time-wise at different displays as there was always another tour group right behind. Birkinau was a much quicker visit but equally as informative and moving. You definitely got more out of the visit with a guide but I’d recommend booking well in advance as we paid much more by booking late for the same visit.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed feedback! We’re glad to hear you appreciated the communication and the comfort of the journey. We understand that the sites can get very busy, but we’re happy the guide helped you get the most out of your visit. We hope to see you again!

    Memorable

The experience was very good. No queuing to get in, our driver Lukasz was excellent. Our guide Symon was also excellent, he was so knowledgeable and spoke with care and explained everything so well. Would fully recommend anyone going with Viator excellent experience. Thank you for keeping the memory alive to all those who lost their lives there. Never forget.

    Auschwitz/Birkenau

Would have liked more time to read the information that was provided in each area ..our guide was very good but the next group was right behind us so we had to rush thro cause they started talking over our guide.

    Avoid

Company cancelled our tour less than a week before we arrived. Despite paying ridiculously high prices per person (I guess as it was Easter weekend) Not sure if we will be able to find another one with a guide at this short notice. Annoyed!!!! Only reason we are coming to Krakow.

    Fast paced, a little rushed

715am pickup as expected. Driver very good. Arrived on time at Auschwitz and straight through to an English speaking guide. 15mins to eat lunch in car park by van then onto Birkenau, met up with same guide. Back at hotel by 1530. Only 3 stars, because felt whole experience was rushed. Auschwitz was busy so we filed through areas quickly with little time to read or reflect - this spoilt it a little. We sped through the gas chamber without even stopping to pause! Birkenau was slower paced, but again had to go at guides pace. Considering you can visit both sites for free without a guide, I would seriously recommend you book the limited free slots on the day and take your time around the sites at your own pace. Public transport to and between camps is readily available.

Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.

How much does Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats cost?

    +

Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.

Is Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Auschwitz & Birkenau Guided Tour With Tickets - Small Van 8 seats start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Krakow?

    +

On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Krakow?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Krakow?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
